Time doesn’t stop and neither do we! We have TWO amazing projects coming up in September!

First, we have Fugitive Songs, a song cycle across America. We kind of ended up with an America theme this year, and that ain’t so bad, as long as we are holding this country accountable. And this show is all about wanting to run away, break free, and find yourself. Appropriate for America, we say. A restless mix of folk, rock, and contemporary musical theater, don’t miss this fantastic song cycle.

Second, yall know what time it is: It’s time to crack open a cold one again!! Come down to Orlando’s most insane one act play experience. A bunch of shows, written overnight, and performed mostly drunk by the actors. This event sells out fast so grab those tickets!

Wellllllll shoot, as American Gothic opens TOMORROW we gotta take a second to talk about our Director, Alexander Mrazek!

Alexander takes the helm of this year’s entry into the the Gothic Anthology for the first time, after appearing in every iteration of a Gothic script to date. You may remember him as UNDENIABLY hilarious turn as Rolf in Gothic Tavern, Brennan in Gothic Manor, J’Mes in Gothic Seas and the evil Mordred in Gothic Castle. Alex is bringing his unique understanding of horror as well as his sharp comedic understanding as he takes you into the Gothic South to evoke the horrors of Sylvia Plath and John Steinbeck with a little comedic flair.

His bio:

Alexander Mrazek has been working in the Orlando entertainment market for over 15 years, having moved here after receiving a BFA in Acting at the University of Florida. On the corporate entertainment side, he has worked for Disney, SeaWorld, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Ga***rd Palms Resort, and currently is with Universal Studios Orlando as a full-time performer. On the theatre front, Alex has worked with Orlando Shakes, Orlando Family Stage, New Generation Theatrical, Orlando and Melbourne Fringe, and many others. It has allowed him the opportunity to originate several roles, as well as play many established characters, including favorites: Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd), Lady Bracknell (Importance of Being Earnest), Lumiere (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast), and Mushnik (Little Shop of Horrors). He is always grateful to his Mom and Brother, and his chosen family, for their constant support.

These are pretty accurate representations of what they’re going through at any given moment: Daisy-Lynn doing a favorite activity (such as removing the head off of poultry) with a big smile, and Beulah lookin’ at her like “what the f**k?” Ahh there’s so much… love… in this community.
