Grandma Lily is settling into her new life at Elephant Nature Park 🐘

She has officially graduated from quarantine and moved into the Senior Elephant Zone, where she can begin exploring her new surroundings and enjoying more freedom.

The transformation has already been remarkable. Lily looks healthier, more relaxed, and increasingly confident with each passing day. After a lifetime of hard work, she is finally being given the time, space, and care she needs to heal.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make Lily’s rescue possible. Because of this community, she no longer has to work for survival. Instead, she can spend her days discovering her new home, making choices for herself, and preparing for the day she finds a herd and new friends to call family.

Rescue is only the beginning. Now comes the important work of supporting Lily’s long-term care and recovery.

You can be part of her next chapter by becoming a Foster Parent through the link below and helping provide the food, veterinary care, and support she will need throughout her retirement.

Lily is coming home to Elephant Nature Park 🐘

In just one weekend, every dollar needed for her rescue was raised. Truly incredible.

Thank you to everyone who showed up so quickly and wholeheartedly when it mattered most.

Very soon, Lily will arrive at sanctuary where her life shifts from survival to healing. No more work. No more exploitation. Just space, care, and the chance to simply be.

A special thank you to The Elephant Initiative and Trista Vidovich for a generous matching gift that helped push this effort forward, and to Jennifer McCausland and ST for helping bring it across the finish line.

This is what collective action can do. We’re deeply grateful to each of you who made it possible.

🚛 Rescue updates coming soon.

LILY IS HOME! ♥️🐘

After a long journey, we are so happy to share that Lily safely arrived at Elephant Nature Park earlier today.

She’s beginning to settle in - welcomed with a beautiful fruit platter and already enjoying a fresh sand bed where she can rest comfortably, chain-free…likely for the very first time in her life.

This is the beginning of a new chapter for her - one of healing, freedom and peace.

Thank you to every single person who donated, shared, and supported Lily’s rescue. Because of you, we were able to stand alongside Lek and make this life-changing rescue possible.

For the first time in her life, Grandma Lily is discovering a world without work at Elephant Nature Park 🐘

Everything is new. The quiet routines, the freedom to wander, the chance to move at her own pace without expectation.

Lily has already shown everyone just how gentle she is. She’s a talkative grandma who isn’t shy about asking for her favorite soft foods when she’s hungry. After decades of labor and the challenges that come with old age, her caregivers are focused on keeping her comfortable, nourished, and slowly rebuilding her strength.

She’s also beginning to show interest in the other elephants around her. On a recent walk to the river, Lily paused to greet some of the younger herd members along the way, including NamThip, who rarely misses an opportunity to make a new friend. 🥹

Now that Lily is finally safe in her forever home, her journey of healing is just beginning and long-term care for an elderly elephant requires ongoing support.

This , you can directly help provide Lily with nutritious food, veterinary care, and the comfort she deserves in sanctuary.

Trunks of compassion 💛

Mintra cares for NamThip as if she were her own daughter. The bond these two have formed is profoundly moving. A true connection through gentle trunk touches and quiet reassurance.

In sanctuary, relationships like this become part of the healing process. Together, they are finding comfort in the present and hope for the future. 🐘

Trunks Up | Abraham Foundation is proud to stand alongside Elephant Nature Park, where rescued elephants are given the time, space, and compassion to heal in their own way and rediscover joy in life again.

Lek’s Voice is Echoing Across Borders🐘🌏

For decades, Lek Chailert has spoken up for elephants, calling for a future rooted in compassion, not control. What once felt like a solitary voice has grown into something far more powerful.

Today, Lek’s voice is being heard across Southeast Asia. And for the first time, governments are listening.

Over the years, the Bangladesh government sent officials to Elephant Nature Park to learn from Lek’s work. Through sustained advocacy, education, and collaboration, that influence is now helping drive historic reform:

🐘 Elephant riding is ending nationwide
🐘 Elephants can no longer be used for street begging or logging
🐘 A High Court order now protects elephants from mistreatment
🐘 Welfare standards are improving with chain-free shelters
🐘 Elephant shows that once drew crowds are now closed

This is more than policy reform. It is proof that one voice can ignite a movement and that compassion can transform systems once thought impossible to change.

And this is only the beginning. 🤝

🚨 LET'S RESCUE LILY! 🚨

After a Lifetime of Work, Lily Deserves Freedom 🐘

Lily is over 60 years old and still being used for elephant riding.

She survived years in the logging industry, followed by two decades carrying tourists. Even during COVID, she was made to stand all day at a temple so people could feed her. Today, she is back to giving rides.

Her body is worn. She suffers from digestive problems and needs urgent care.

Years ago, part of Lily’s trunk was severed in an accident - an injury she has been forced to live and work with ever since.

Lily has given her whole life. Now she deserves rest, care, and freedom at Elephant Nature Park.

Your support can bring her to sanctuary.

🎯 GOAL: $40,000

Together, we can bring her home!

Standing together for elephants, everywhere 🐘

Today, on Save the Elephant Day, we stand firm in our mission: to protect, support, and advocate for elephants across the globe. Together, Trunks Up and the Abraham Foundation support frontline organizations working at the heart of conservation. Our efforts span from protecting elephants from exploitation in the tourism industry in Thailand to supporting rangers safeguarding wild herds from poaching in Malawi.

From rescue and lifelong sanctuary care to habitat protection and community-led conservation, this work is only possible through collaboration.

Together, we stand for a future where elephants are no longer exploited, but respected. A future where they can live safely, freely, and with dignity.

Protecting elephants isn’t the work of one organization. It’s a collective commitment. Thank you to all who work every day to protect one of the world’s keystone species. 🤝

Their future depends on all of us. 🤍🌍
