Paradise Rescue was created to bring awareness to and help reduce the stray domesticated animal population in Puerto Rico by: educating the public on best practices and care for pets; rescuing and relocating stray animals; creating a network of foster homes and sister rescues located in the United States, particularly the midwestern states of the United States, to aid in the relocation of stray an

imals to homes in the states; creating community outreach to prevent animal neglect or abandonment; and encouraging and leading a volunteer network in Puerto Rico and the United States to reduce the number of stray animals located on the island of Puerto Rico. Celebrating 10 years of Paradise Rescue this week 🩵

This week marks our 10 year anniversary—a whole decade of rescue, second chances, and the incredible community that has made it all possible.

For 10 years, Paradise Rescue has been saying yes when dogs needed someone most.
Yes to the emergency cases.
Yes to the late-night rescues.
Yes to the dogs who deserved a chance, even when the odds were stacked against them.

When we look back, it’s impossible not to feel emotional thinking about everything this community has made possible.

The lives saved.
The families created.
The once-forgotten dogs now living the lives they always deserved.

This milestone belongs to every single person who has been part of this journey—our fosters, adopters, volunteers, donors, flight escorts, and supporters near and far.

We’ll be celebrating all week long and we’d love for you to celebrate with us by sharing this fundraiser within your own networks.

Fletch 🩵🐶

His story could have ended before it even had a second chance… but thankfully, it didn’t.

Fletch was one of four dogs (a mom and her three “kids,” though all were fully grown) who were brought to a local vet clinic after their owners went through a divorce and said they could no longer handle caring for them. Their plan was to have all four dogs euthanized.

One of the vet techs knew this wasn’t the ending they deserved and reached out to Rosy 🙏 We stepped in immediately, got them safe, and made sure they received everything they needed—full vetting, vaccinations, and spay/neuter.

Since then, three of them have already made their way to New York and are being adopted through 🥹✨

But Fletch is still waiting.

He’s a sweet, fully grown little guy who deserves the same happy ending as his family. He’s ready to find his forever home—and we can fly him anywhere ✈️🐾

Meet Freddy 🩵🐾

Freddy was rescued by Veronica after a friend from a hot dog stand shared that he had been abandoned just days before. He was desperately chasing after cars and following anyone he could, clearly searching for safety. It was only a matter of time before something terrible happened—but thankfully, Veronica stepped in just in time.

Now, Freddy is safe, healthy, and already received his initial vetting. He’s scheduled to be neutered next week and is so ready for the next chapter of his life… we just need a place for him to go.

Here’s the urgent part: Freddy is quickly approaching the maximum weight limit to fly in-cabin, which is how we safely transport our dogs to their homes. That means we need a committed adopter or a stateside foster ASAP to secure his spot before that window closes.

We are currently super low on travel carriers and need your help 🩵✈️🐶

If you’ve been looking for a simple way to support our pups, this is a big one. Head to our Amazon wishlist (linked below)—the first three items are the exact carriers we need right now, and they’ll ship directly to us on the island.

Every flight you see starts way before takeoff—this is a glimpse into the prep that goes into getting each dog ready, safe, and cleared to travel. It takes a lot behind the scenes, and having a steady flow of carriers is a huge part of making it all possible.

These carriers are what allow our dogs to leave the island—whether it’s heading to a foster or straight to a forever home. Every trip adds up with flights, vetting, and logistics, so having carriers donated helps ease a major part of that burden and allows us to keep saying YES to more dogs in need.

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED ON ISLAND 🚨

Meet Peter, Paul, and Mary ❤️‍🩹

These three were found roaming Karin’s neighborhood—most likely dumped and left to fend for themselves. Thankfully, they’re safe with us for now… but only very temporarily, and we urgently need somewhere for them to go next.

Sweet Paul has already been through so much 💔 He was found with TWO bullets in his tiny body—one lodged in his elbow and one in his sc***um. Both have been removed, and he’s on the road to recovery, but he (and his siblings) need a safe place to land while they continue vetting and heal.

We are looking for a foster ON THE ISLAND (ideally east side: Luquillo, Río Grande, Humacao, Punta Santiago, etc.) who can open their home to them while they receive the care they need before flying to their forever homes 🩵

We provide everything — food, crate, vetting, supplies — you just provide the safe, loving space.

Meet Jasper 🩵

This sweet boy was found all alone at a gas station by Rosy, just waiting for someone to notice him. Thankfully, he’s safe now—and ready for his forever chapter.

Jasper has since been fully vetted, vaccinated, and neutered, and he’s a happy, healthy pup who’s more than ready to find his people. He’s great with both dogs and cats, making him an easy addition to so many homes.

Now all he needs is you 🩵

🩵 FOSTER NEEDED FOR MAMA SYRAH 🩵

Remember Mama Syrah — the sweet beach mama from Las Picuas whose puppies all made it to their forever homes? 🥹 Every single one of her babies is safe… and now it’s her turn.

Syrah has been with us going through heartworm treatment, and she just needs a temporary on-island foster from May 18–May 30 to finish out her injections and recovery before she’s ready to fly to her forever home in early June ✈️

She is, as her foster Mary says, “practically perfect.”
🩵 Total velcro dog — loves being around her people
🩵 Big snuggle bug — will happily curl up on the couch with you for hours
🩵 Chill, easy energy (especially right now during treatment)
🩵 Loves chew toys and just relaxing nearby
🩵 Enjoys slow, flat walks and exploring the house
🩵 Dog-friendly and very gentle — not a big barker at all

She’s the kind of dog who just wants to be close to you — equal parts cozy couch companion and little adventure buddy 🥹

We are looking for a foster ON THE ISLAND (ideally east side: Luquillo, Río Grande, Humacao, Punta Santiago, etc.) who can open their home to her short-term while she finishes treatment. This is a temporary foster, making it a perfect opportunity if you’ve ever thought about fostering but can’t commit long-term.

We provide everything — food, crate, vetting, supplies — you just provide the safe, loving space 💕

🧀 FOSTER NEEDED ASAP – Meet our Cheese Pups 🧀

Colby Jack, Feta, and Queso Fresco are here to steal hearts 🥹🩵 — but right now, they urgently need a temporary foster on the island.

These three were found alone in the Gurabo area with no mom in sight. They came to us full of worms and incredibly itchy, but after getting fully vetted and lots of medicated baths, their coats are healing beautifully and they’re finally feeling like happy, healthy puppies 🙌

They’re playful, loving, and full of personality — truly the sweetest little crew 🥰

🚨 Here’s the urgent need:
They can’t stay where they currently are, and we’re looking for a short-term foster in Puerto Rico to give them a safe place to land while they finish up vetting. That’s it — just a temporary spot until they’re cleared to fly ✈️

We’re not sure who mom is, but we estimate they’ll be medium-sized when fully grown.

✨ They will be available for adoption and can fly to their forever homes soon, so if you’re interested in adopting, you can still apply!

Six little lives, one incredible second chance 🩵

Meet Patience, Mercy, Liberty, Justice, Joy, and Hope—a beautiful group of pups found and saved by David, who didn’t just step in… he stepped ALL the way up and is now helping foster them too 🙌

Each one of these babies has their own spark:

✨ Patience – full of energy and love, especially if there’s a game of tug-of-war involved!
✨ Mercy – tiny but mighty! She’s full of energy and, with a little extra love and reassurance from David, her sweet personality is shining through more every day.
✨ Liberty – the ultimate lover 🥰 cuddly, friendly, and so ready to make new best friends.
✨ Justice – the most adventurous of them all, charging into fun and always on the hunt for his next toy.
✨ Joy – the explorer! Always on the move, running room to room taking in the world around her.
✨ Hope – your future cuddle buddy 🥹 full of snuggles, love, and ready for whatever adventure comes next.

They are ALL incredibly happy, affectionate, and confident pups whose personalities are already shining bright. They’re healthy, thriving, and soaking up all the love and care they deserve 🩵

We estimate they’ll be medium-sized when fully grown—and they’ll be ready to ✈️ to their forever homes soon!

Saul’s story could have ended very differently… but thankfully Veronica was in the right place at the right time. 🥹

At the beginning of April, she was loading supplies into a car to head to the airport when she saw this poor boy racing down the street. She whistled—and he ran straight to her. Without hesitation, she scooped him up and got him to safety. 🙌

Saul was in heartbreaking condition, with a large, painful hole in his thigh. We still don’t know what caused it, but we do know he was suffering. Veronica rushed him to the vet immediately—and through it all, Saul never once reacted. No growling, no biting… just pure trust. 🩵

And that tells you everything you need to know about him.

Saul is an absolute GEM. The happiest boy EVER—he loves people, dogs, cats, hugs, treats… all of it. 🥰 He’s potty trained, playpen trained, and happiest curled up next to you on the couch or in bed. He’s all about soft beds, toys, and being close to his people.

After everything he’s been through, he deserves the safest, most loving forever home—and we know it’s out there. 🥹

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Detroit meet up today 🩵 it was so nice getting to see you and your pups and spend some time together 🤗 Special shoutout to for the space and all of the support!!

These kinds of moments are always really special—especially for our fosters, who get to see the dogs they once cared for again, now happy and settled into their forever homes. It’s such a good reminder of how important fostering is and the role it plays in each dog’s journey 🥹

We also love seeing adopters connect with each other and continue building this community beyond adoption day 🩵
