Learning Indian Classical Music is a journey that unfolds gradually - through practice, patience, guidance and the experience of finding one’s own place within a rich musical tradition.

For Andrew Shantz, a disciple of Pt. Sanjoy Banerjee and a faculty member at Suromurchhana US, his musical journey has been one of exploration and dedicated learning. Through his continued study of Hindustani Classical Music, he continues to deepen his understanding of the Khayal tradition while developing his own musical expression.

At the heart of Suromurchhana’s approach is the belief that every student’s musical journey is unique. By bringing together the values of the Guru-Shishya Parampara with personal attention and dedicated training, Suromurchhana creates an environment where students can grow within the tradition while gradually discovering their own voice.

Chhandayan’s Annual All-Night Concert returns, a tradition that lets Hindustani classical music unfold through the small hours, when the rarest late-night and early-morning ragas come alive.

This October, experience Pandit Sanjoy Banerjee, one of India’s finest vocalists and a distinguished exponent of the Kirana Gharana. A disciple of the legendary Pt. A. Kanan and Sangeet Bidushi Malabika Kanan, his sonorous voice and soulful improvisation have enthralled audiences across the world. He is joined by Tejas Tope on Tabla and Pt. Kedar Naphade on Harmonium.
