Due to the forecasted rain and anticipated traffic and transportation challenges related to the Knicks Parade, we have made the decision to cancel the Advocacy Juneteenth Celebration scheduled for Thursday, June 18th at Riverside State Park.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

If you are still looking to celebrate Juneteenth, we encourage you to attend the celebration at Canarsie Pier on Friday, June 19th, located at 9820 Seaview Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11236. It begins at 11:30am.

NOTE: Staff from each residence must bring food for their individual based on their dietary restrictions.

Join ambassador & advocate Jeffrey and strike up a storm with our supporters, friends, and fellow bowlers to help us raise funds for CFS' Innovation & Advocacy Department to support programs that empower self-advocates, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for individuals with .

Jeffrey has worked with legislators in Albany & Washington, D.C. to champion & help people with IDD find their voices and advocate for themselves.

New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is partnering with NY State Parks & Historic Sites , NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, the NYC Department of Veterans' Services, the Office of Mental Health and the for “Get Outdoors & Get Together Day,” a free statewide event celebrating accessibility, inclusion, and outdoor recreation.

“People with autism are easy-going. You just need to give us a chance and get to know us.”

That simple but powerful message became the heart of a wonderful and memorable conversation with Tonya, a CFS participant, poet, and New Jersey Self-Advocacy Ambassador.

Tonya shared her thoughts on autism, read her poem What Autism Means to Me, reflected on her work as an advocate, and explained why using her voice to support others matters so much.
