Courtney’s Stars of Tomorrow mourns the passing of Limmie Pulliam, an extraordinary artist and cherished collaborator whose artistry and spirit left an indelible mark on our organization and audiences alike.

Mr. Pulliam appeared with Courtney’s Stars of Tomorrow as the tenor soloist in Courtney Carey’s oratorio What Manner of Man is This? in 2021 and again in our 2024 Opera in the Park concert. His unforgettable performance of “Nessun dorma” touched millions of listeners around the world and stands as a testament to the power, beauty, and humanity of his artistry.

Beyond his remarkable voice, Limmie will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, humor, and joyful spirit. We are profoundly grateful to have shared the stage with him and to have experienced firsthand the brilliance he brought to every performance.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who loved and admired him.

Rest in peace, Limmie Pulliam.

I am delighted to have contributed to this article on the challenges of presenting outdoor concerts during the summer for Classical Singer Magazine. Performing outdoors presents a unique set of challenges. During the recent preparations for Opera in the Park, we experienced some apprehension due to weather forecasts predicting rain. Thankfully, the event day turned out to be warm and sunny. In this article, we explore several key considerations, including the impact of weather conditions, the functionality of microphones, and appropriate attire for outdoor performances. Click the link below to read the full article. Thank you, Rachel Antman and Classical Singer Magazine, for the opportunity.

Performing outdoors during the summer season can be a wonderful, fulfilling experience. It can also be hot, humid, rainy, buggy, noisy, or distracting. Or all of the above.
