This past Tuesday students and young professionals across NYC came together to discuss the future of reproductive rights with reproductive rights journalist Garnet Henderson, founder of Autonomy News. We left inspired by the conversation and hopeful about what this community of advocates will bring to the policy challenges ahead. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Phenomenal kick off to campus organizing this year! 21 colleges across New York state organized to take action for World Contraception Day. Students collected petitions and talked to their peers to call on their colleges to add emergency contraception and Opill to vending machines on campus. This gives students a low cost, anonymous, and accessible option for getting birth control. This campaign helps reduce stigma and debunk misinformation about birth control at a time when social media and pop culture are creating a chilling effect around birth control access.

Old school petitioning in action! NYBCAP advocates are using in person events to push back on misinformation and stigma about birth control. They are calling on campuses across New York to place emergency contraception and Opill in vending machines and talking to their peers about safety and efficacy of birth control.

Our 2nd pharmacy canvass day…in Jackson Heights, NYC!

A huge shoutout to our advocates - some even making a 1+ hour commute to make this day a success.

A second shout out to our wonderful community pharmacists readying themselves to provide top-level reproductive care in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the WORLD.

We were so grateful to attend the NIRH luncheon last week! It is inspiring be in community with so many passionate changemakers and to reflect on the power of collective action, advocacy, and partnership. We’re grateful to continue this work alongside organizations and leaders committed to expanding reproductive healthcare access for all.

Legislation that would expand access to birth control at the pharmacy has been stalled in the New York State Legislature. Advocates at the NY York Birth Control Action Fund have been raising concerns about the tactics being used to hold up the bill.

Student voices are loud and impossible to ignore! Last month our amazing advocates delivered over 200 petition signatures to College President’s office!

NYBCAP advocates have done it again! 🎉 Hunter College students made their voices heard, and now emergency contraception is officially available in a campus vending machine after months of organizing! Thank you for supporting this initiative!

Access matters, and student advocates are proving that change happens when we push for it together. You can now find the vending machine on the 4th floor of the West Building!
