Happy Birthday to the legendary Louis Armstrong! 🎺✨

His groundbreaking artistry, unmistakable voice, and enduring optimism continue to inspire musicians and music lovers around the world.

At The ASCAP Foundation, we're proud to honor his legacy through our What a Wonderful World program, where elementary school students discover the life and music of Louis Armstrong, explore the rich history of jazz, and build their own musical skills through guitar lessons. By connecting young people with this incredible musical tradition, we're helping inspire the next generation of creators.

Congratulations to Shawn Hann, Director of Theatre at Denver School of the Arts, on being named the 2026 Stephen Schwartz Musical Theatre Teacher of the Year! We were so grateful to celebrate her at the Educational Theatre Association Awards, where Stephen and ASCAP Foundation Executive Director Patricia Leonard presented the award.

"This award celebrates someone who builds community, develops young artists, and gives students the courage, discipline, and compassion to carry their artistry into the world," said Stephen. "For more than three decades, Shawn Hann has done exactly that."
