With the federal government ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians in the U.S. on February 3rd, ICE presence is expected to significantly increase in central Ohio cities like Springfield and Columbus--cities where thousands of Haitian immigrants and families call home.

Local leaders are preparing to support their Haitian neighbors by gathering donated funds to cover urgent needs like food, safe housing, transportation, and access to healthcare and translation support. These contributions strengthen the shared networks of care they have built, and keeps Haitian families connected to trusted community resources.

As members of the Central and Northeast Ohio chapters of the Socialist Rifle Association, as well as Serve The People Akron, we believe it is of the utmost importance that we show up and support communities across Ohio, especially in their times of need. Your gift to the Haitian Community Emergency Response Fund provides direct, practical support to a vulnerable community in Ohio.

Hi community !
In response to the continued failures of our government system to provide for the needs of its people and in the spirit of mutual aid, we are offering an expansion of our food justice efforts beginning this coming Saturday.

The produce offered will be i͟n͟ a͟d͟d͟i͟t͟i͟o͟n͟ t͟o͟ our usual prepared meal share and folks can come for e͟i͟t͟h͟e͟r͟ o͟r͟ b͟o͟t͟h͟ food options.


🌟For our expanded produce distribution this week, we will have: Apples, Pears, Bananas, Blackberries, Oranges, Collard Greens, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Butternut Squash, Onions, Bell Peppers, Cabbage, Celery, Cucumbers 🌟

We don’t ever require: sobriety, proof of income or other means testing, age, legal status, participation in a religious service, or have a maximum number of times you can receive from us.

If you’re able to support our efforts, financial support goes directly into the resources we provide and vegetarian pantry donations to either of our drop box locations would be greatly appreciated.
