The QUESTion Project

The QUESTion Project The QUESTion Project engages young people with a sense of infinite possibilities, and empowers them to shape their future with meaning and purpose.

It all started with an intuitive sense of idealism, and a sense that Education could more directly and formally support students with some of the most important life questions, in order to help them define who they are and their role and contribution to society and the future. In the Fall of 2013, the QUESTion Project was born. It engages young people with a sense of infinite possibilities, and em

powers them to shape their life and future with meaning and purpose. Through a structured curriculum, peer-to-peer forums, facilitated discussions and engaging activities, we create a culture where big questions matter. We work with high schools, colleges and youth organizations to support youths' potential for inspired leadership and their capacity to respond creatively to the pressing needs of our time with vision and direction.

Education’s Role in Creating the Future: Humanity at the Heart of Learning

An Interview with Howard Gardner (Harvard Graduate School of Education) and Gerard Senehi (Founder, QUESTion Project).

"If we continue to fail to prepare students in a substantial way for their lives and future, we will continue to experience a mental health crisis. We will perpetuate barriers that stem from our inability to see our common humanity in our differences. And we will continue to be unprepared to respond to the needs of this moment in history…not to mention the challenges of an even more rapidly changing world.

On the other hand, at a time when the educational system fully supports students to develop their authentic identities, to take their lives into their own hands, and to pursue a life of purpose, we will be standing on completely different ground." - Gerard Senehi, Founder, The QUESTion Project

Project Zero The Good Project Gerard Senehi

We would like to introduce our readers to the QUESTion Project ! Howard Gardner interviewed founder, Gerard Senehi, to get a sense of what this important project is all about. Their conversation below will give you an outline, but please read this paper ( Education's Role in Shaping the Future )

A New Vision for Education - Becoming a Role Model - Principal (BCSM)

"Society creates these parameters as to who we should aspire to become...What we're here to do with The QUESTion Project and at our school Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics is to tell the kids that 'You become the role model for others to aspire to become''"

- Ed Tom - Former Principal at the Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics speaking about The QUESTion Project.

Our Leaders Questioned Themselves

"Our leaders didn't stay in the status quo. Our leaders questioned themselves. They raised themselves up, and through that, they raise other people." - Natalia, a Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics graduate, and QUESTion Project Alumni.

Valuable insights are gained when we have permission to open up and express ourselves vulnerably. What lies dormant within us can be just as profound as what lies undiscovered in the world.

A high school student (and QUESTion Project Alum) shared this quote in an interview with Stanford University after taking The QUESTion Class, as part of their two-year impact study, investigating our program's impact on young adults.

Keep Questioning, and Purpose Will Come To You.

"If you believe you don't know what your purpose is, and you just keep asking questions, eventually that purpose will come to you. And once you find that purpose, and if it's something that you really enjoy, make sure you never let it go."
- Tahj, a Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics graduate, and QUESTion Project Alumni.

What It Takes To Flourish

"When you are closed-minded you're a seed that's buried under the dirt and if nobody waters you then you're never going to grow. So, once you find that person or those people that are willing to water you, you can grow."

- Hector, a Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics graduate, and QUESTion Project Alumni.

We create space in public high schools for students to share the depth of their experiences so they develop stronger connections with each other, and become stronger through those connections.

A high school student (and QUESTion Project Alum) shared this quote in an interview with Stanford University after taking The QUESTion Class, as part of their two-year impact study, investigating our program's impact on young adults.
