Hip Hop Re:Education Project

The Hip Hop Re:Education Project is an NYC-based community-arts organzation at the forefront of global Hip Hop Education and youth development.

We are a community-based arts organization with a proven track record of inspiring and transforming communities, engaging marginalized and disaffected youth and improving youth motivation and achievement. We use the interdisciplinary approach intrinsically found in youth/Hip Hop culture and the artistic crafts of theater, poetry, performance, song-writing, music production, visual art, digital med

ia and dance to transform teacher practice, develop culturally responsive curricula and improve student attendance and academic achievement. We are committed to the fight for social justice. Just like Hip Hop’s pioneers used the Elements (MCing, DJing, beatboxing, breakdancing, and graffiti art) to counteract gang violence and drug use and build positive life-affirming community, we use artistic expression, digital media and restorative justice practices to support the next generation of ARTivists.

We’re back this Wednesday with another edition of at ! We’ve got emcee, singer and dancer and beatmaker and producer coming in to rock for the entire 12th grade. Once again it’s not really open to the public, but if you’re interested in checking it out, hit us up and we’ll see what we can do. Here are some photos and video from our first of 2025 which was a huge success! We appreciate all the support from the and staff without whom this would be impossible. Big ups to all the students who performed, DJd and helped with organizational and hosting duties. Finally, a huge thanks to and for sharing the love with our young people…they have no idea how lucky the were to have y’all come through and rock for them! Our next one is scheduled for March 5th. This week we kick off a new performance showcase at … ! Aside from featuring student poets, singers and rappers, we’ll also be inviting some of today’s greatest global musical talent to rock for the young people! This month our special guests will be Indie Hip-Hop legend and teaching alum ! Stay tuned for photos and video of the event. As well as announcements for future shows…the line-up for the rest of the year is 🔥🤯!!
