Last night, Jofa hosted "You Are Not Alone: Parenting Through Antisemitism, Together". An honest conversation about raising kids who are visibly Jewish, proud, and safe. With over 220 registrants, the evening drew a community eager to talk openly. We're deeply grateful to NYC Council Speaker Julie Menin, Paula Eiselt, Rabbi Yali Szulanski, Tova Rosenfeld of the ADL, Dr. Mindy Feldman Hecht, our partners at ADL and JCRC New York, and every parent who joined us for this important conversation.

Our message was simple: You are not alone.

Jofa is thrilled to welcome Robert Lichtman to our board!

Robert is an essayist, mentor, and teacher who brings decades of broad and deep professional experience in the Jewish communal world to Jofa's board. He most recently served as Chief Jewish Learning Officer at the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, and previously spent over a decade as the founding Executive Director of The Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life, building it into a regional and national model for Jewish academic and experiential education. His career also includes senior roles at Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, where he helped shape what became Birthright Israel, and UJA-Federation of New York, where he stewarded the relationship between the world’s largest Jewish philanthropic community and the people of Israel.

We are grateful to have his wisdom and leadership as we build a more inclusive Jewish community for women. Welcome, Bob!

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to support families who have experienced loss, and reflect on how we can show up for one another with compassion and sensitivity. 💗

Sometimes, the most meaningful support begins with knowing what to say, what not to say, and simply how to be there.

We're grateful to our friend Reva from NechamaComfort for sharing these important and sensitive tips for supporting individuals and families navigating pregnancy and infant loss.

These conversations aren't always easy, but approaching them with thoughtfulness, empathy, and care can make a world of difference.
