Refreshing drinks and a calming atmosphere make an amazing choice to unwind in the LES. Pictured above is the rose cold foam latte accompanied by the German chocolate brownie, and the matcha cold foam coconut cloud (a flawless combination of two delightful flavors, coconut water and matcha). Whether it be to work, study, or simply hangout, sitting by the window sill and observing the blossoming colors of the Lower East Side is a must-do when you’re in the neighborhood.

Originally built in 1902 and expanded around 1920, 130 Orchard Street grew with Orchard Street’s bustling commercial district. The building’s restored Beckenstein ghost signs are a reminder of its past life in the fabric trade. Today, visitors come for a different kind of discovery, with exhibitions, events, and public programming at bringing new audiences through the doors beneath the same historic facade.

68 Hester Street

Built in 1910 at the corner of Orchard and Hester, this five story mixed-use building reflects the dense storefront pattern that defined much of the Lower East Side in the early 20th century. In the 1940s, textile and silk goods businesses occupied the ground floor storefronts visible here. Today, the building continues to house businesses shaped by clothing, objects, and material history, including and beneath its still recognizable facade.
