Last night was a full circle moment.

Blackboard Plays Founder, Garlia Cornelia Jones attended a benefit performance of “School Girls; or, The African Mean Girls Play” by Jocelyn Bioh Manhattan Theatre Club.

👑 10 years ago, on January 11, 2016, “School Girls...” had it’s first reading at Blackboard Plays @
the cell , and Heather Alicia Simms who plays Headmistress Francis on Broadway was in that first reading.

The October 20th benefit performances was an incredible communing in support of this production and Black women on Broadway.

✨Blackboard Plays is proud to have played a small part in the journey of “School Girls...”

🎟️ Tickets available at Manhattan Theatre Club.

💻 If you’re not in New York, “School Girls... will stream during its final week of performances in November. 🙌🏾

As producers of Black Motherhood and Parenting New Play Festival - BMPFest, Blackboard is a supporter of accessible theatrical experiences. ✊🏾

This production is an obvious must see!
