For 30 years Midori & Friends, founded by violin virtuoso Midori, has invested in over 300,000 students in NYC by providing tuition-free music education programs. We serve local communities by supporting those arts organizations whose purpose is to develop self-confidence, creativity and ambition in our young people. As it ignites positive social change in the rising generations of students and th

eir families, our dynamic music education programs enrich our city and the individual lives that make it great. We believe that by acting to realize the principles of equity, inclusion, and a strong, diverse population, we help to create an environment of goodwill upon which our city depends if its citizens are to flourish.

Board member Hiroshi Kawano, Executive Chairman of MUFG Americas, threw the Honorary First Pitch at Citi Field for Japanese Heritage Night!⚾ Gary Moriwaki, Japan Society Board member, was the catcher. The special night celebrated Japanese culture and community at the Mets vs. Dodgers game, with Hiroshi and Gary both sporting limited-edition Japanese Mets jerseys for the occasion. Check out Midori & Friends' staff retreat! Our team participated in an engaging workshop led by Gary Bagley , who brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience. Through interactive activities and discussions, we explored our shared purpose, workplace values, and organizational goals while strengthening communication and collaboration.

After a productive morning, it was time for some fun at Lucky Strike! 🎳
