Happy Juneteenth Fam! Last Sunday, we kicked off the celebration early with The Lay Out’s 7th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, bringing The Joy of Play to Fort Greene Park. And y’all showed up exactly how we hoped: moving, dancing, shopping, making, laughing, lounging, playing, and reminding us what freedom feels like when joy gets the whole park.

Today, on Juneteenth, we’re still sitting with what the day means. Our freedom. Our joy. Our right to gather, take up space, and play out loud. Deep love to everyone who made it possible.

Haiti, the first free Black republic, is the blueprint to freedom. Brazil brings its own deep Black diasporic culture, rhythm, and love for the beautiful game. So we’re celebrating both.

Join The Lay Out x Habana Outpost for a Haiti vs. Brazil Watch Party.
