My first crop of radish, Cherry Bell. All our gardens look great! Remember there’s many crops that can be succession sown. Radish, lettuce, peas, beans, carrots, spinach, beets. Read the seed packet for ‘days to maturity’ root crops like to be in loose soil. Feel free to use the compost to mix into your beds.

We got a lovely rain on Sunday so the gardens should be good for moisture for a couple days. Remember to keep your plot weeded, if you get then early and often its so much easier than waiting until they are big. The hydrant lock is now a padlock with a key; the key is in the shed just left of the door on a nail. Please remember to return it. most everyone has their gardens planted and growing. Let's have a fantastic June!

Again today I found the hose end out so cars can run over it! PLEASE don’t forget to put it under the grate.

5/22/26 The refuse has been removed from the compost bins. What is in there now is soil/compost/branches. There is a bucket for you to take compost and add to your beds. I plan on sifting out the branches and putting all the good compost in the bin farthest from the shed. Please put any weeds pulled from your beds into brown bags for now, as I want to sort the compost bins so the ones closest to the shed will be the first stop for garden waste, not weeds. Thanks, Ann

12:33 pm EDIT!! just after I sent that email I got another email that the city is there right now installing the hydrant faucet so we will have water by later today!!!!😀
5/15/26 I just spoke with the water dept, and they won't have our water turned on until at least May 22, maybe May 27th. I am so sorry, It usually doesn't take that long. I know we have rain this weekend, just keep an eye on the weather, as we may need to carry water in until then, especially for the plants if you planted any.

05/13/26 I will be at the garden this evening with several new gardeners, and to get my plots started. there are 2 good plant sales this weekend that should give us some extras for our gardeners. I will be picking up Saturday afternoon and will email all current gardeners as soon as I have them. I am hoping the water will be on today or tomorrow. again, I will let you all know once it is.

05/11/2026

05/11/26, We have no more plots available for the 2026 gardening season. I have not heard from MN Green yet on available plants, as soon as I hear, I will let you know. I will be at the garden Wed, evening around 5 for a while, please stop by if you would like.

5/7/26. Hopefully we are done with the cold nights for the season but keep an eye on the weather still. This weekend is the Friends School Plant Sale at MN State Fairgrounds. Its pretty amazing if you are interested in crowds and lots of plants for sale! It also means the beginning of MN Green getting plants for the cities community gardens. I will email all the current gardeners Sunday night to let you know what I brought for us. I am hoping the city will have the water on early next week. There are plenty of seeds in the shed for our current gardeners to use. Please let me know if you have any questions. Happy Gardening!
