Sad to report that we do not expect to hold a 2017 Drive for Kids fall color cruise. The number of conflicting events results in fewer cars each year, and primary sponsors that provide main funding look to numbers when they sponsor an event. They give with a hope that the event will result in the gift being multiplied and bring them good press. Also, and I say this with kindness, we in the car hobby generally find our cars are attractions at events and others pay to see them, this event does not have a way to use your car to raise funds so we have to ask you for donations. Events at other venues without cars often generate $100 a person or more and net far more per man or women hour of effort. Golf tournaments, running events, dinners etc. raise money far more effectively than our drive, therefore when the effort does not pay the event ends. I hope to have another car related event in the future with a scope that allows for your cars to generate interest and visits that pay the bills but until then thank you everyone so very very much!
