CreativeMornings/Minneapolis CreativeMornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series for creative types. Each free event includes a 20-minute talk, plus coffee. Everyone is creative.

Everyone is welcome. Minneapolis is a city of warm summers, freezing winters and a lake at every turn of the corner. We have a bustling creative community and want to strengthen our relationships and potential by sharing what we do with each other. CreativeMornings now has chapters in 177 cities around the world, including New York, Chicago, London, Zurich, LA, San Francisco, Berlin, Auckland, Milan, Paris, and Vancouver among others. Hope you're all ready for Fall🍁🍂

Meet September's speaker Jamey Erickson!

Jamey went to art school as a design major, spent years touring with bands, shooting photos and video and keeping their websites running from the back of a van. He spent some time at a corporate dot com, ran his own digital creative agency for nearly a decade, produced a record, made some children's books, launched cameras to "space" on weather balloons, kept an enormous telescope in his backyard for years, built an event series, sailed to the bottom of the world, and thrown every creative skill he has at getting his friends elected to public office more than once. Now he makes films.

Today we gathered in the beautiful Silverwood Park to hear from the astounding Amanda Lovelee.

Amanda Lovelee helped us cheer for the trees and shared her personal story of growth through hard times and the encouragement from her mother to create. She described her medium today as government using curiosity, play and research to connect art to civic systems and environmental action.

Hey Creatives! Tickets for this Friday's outdoor event are live. A few reminders for this month's outdoor event:

💚 This event will be outdoors please bring what you need to be comfortable

💚Bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket there will be minimal seating on rocks and the grass

💚There are free parking lots in the park volunteers will be directing the way

💚Weather plan this even is outdoors but Silverwood also has an indoor space in case of unexpected weather

We are so excited to announce our newest venue partner! Silverwood Park in St Anthony MN. We will be having CreativeMornings right in their beautiful ampetheater.

Make sure to spring a cozy chair or comfy picnic blanket to settle in and listen to our speaker. Rain? Don't worry we've got a back up in the visitor center at Silverwood.

It's already time for our last summer event of the year. This month's speaker is Amanda Lovelee!

Amanda Lovelee is a civic and environmental artist whose work bridges science, civics, and systems change. She creates large-scale public art projects that use joy to spark dialogue about our shared future. Rumor has it maybe even a sculpture at our next venue 👀 Lovelee collaborates across sectors—including with scientists, planners, and government agencies. Her work has been widely recognized, with support from major foundations and fellowships including McKnight, NEA, and the Mellon Foundation.

Parking: There are free parking lots in a few spots in the park. We will have signage and volunteers directing the way. Allow yourself a few extra minutes to park and get to the event.

This venue is an outdoor park! This means you will need to bring seating for yourself. Lawn chairs or blankets are encouraged. We will be seated in a horseshoe outdoor venue that has lawn and big boulders to sit on. Please bring what you need to succeed.

What if curiosity and collaboration got the final say instead of competition?

Last week's event at the gorgeous PAIKKA reminded us that while it's easy to measure ourselves against others, the real magic happens when we stay curious, trust our own path, and believe that what's meant for us will find us when the time is right.

Thank you to everyone who spent the morning with us, listening, reflecting, and sharing space together. These are the conversations that fire up the creative spirit and linger long after the coffee is gone. 💚

This month's event was filled with laughter, high fives, a few tears, and hugs💚

We listened to Aneela Idnani | Love Strength & Awareness as she shared her struggles with BFRB and competitive hardship throughout her life. Saying her success didn't just come from being competitive but collaboration as well. Reminding us that if you're in need of something the universe will provide the people, places or things you need.
