A big thank you to MN POC Pride for honoring Black Visions with the Beacon of Support Award!

We’re grateful to have been a multi-year sponsor of MN POC Pride and, more importantly, to have shown up year after year to celebrate, support, and be in community.

We’re proud to stand alongside an organization that continues to create space for Black and POC LGBTQ+ people to feel seen, celebrated, and connected.

Thank you for having us, for trusting us, and for letting us be part of this work. We’re grateful to be in community with y’all. 🙏🏾

There was a time when conversations about public safety felt impossible to have. Together, we shifted what people believed was possible. Movements don't just change policy. They change imagination.

Today we’re remembering the Yes on 2 campaign. More than 62,000 Minneapolis voters supported replacing the Police Department with a Department of Public Safety. While the amendment did not pass, the campaign shifted public conversation and demonstrated that nearly 44% of voters were ready to imagine a different approach to community safety.

In the wake of Metro Surge, many of our neighbors were left rebuilding their lives. We knew recovery couldn't wait, so alongside the Headwaters Foundation for Justice, we worked to get direct financial support into the hands of community members.

By keeping barriers to apply as low as possible, more than 14,000 people submitted applications for the $1 million Individual Giving Program. Through a randomized selection process, 275 community members received grants ranging from $1,500 to $5,000 to help meet their needs.

This work came with thousands of emails, phone calls, questions, and conversations. We know waiting wasn't easy, and we're grateful to everyone who showed us patience as we worked to make this process as fair, transparent, and accessible as possible.

Thank you to the Headwaters Foundation for your partnership and commitment to getting resources directly into our communities. And thank you to everyone who applied, shared the opportunity, and helped spread the word.
