Thank you to everyone who joined the joint community cleanup and w**d out workday with Surfrider MKE & the Friends of Shorewood Nature Preserve at the Shorewood Nature Preserve this past weekend!

It was a gorgeous October morning, we removed bittersweet (check out some of the massive roots!), cleaned up the beach, and removed large fallen trees from the beach and trails. We can’t do this work without you, and we accomplish way more together! 🍂🌳🌊

We have two awesome opportunities with the Shorewood Nature Preserve this week and we hope you can join us!

We are hosting a community meeting TONIGHT (Tuesday, October 6 at 5:45 pm) at the Shorewood Village Meeting Room to help shape the future of the Shorewood Nature Preserve.

On Saturday, October 10 from 9am-12pm we will be participating in a Clean Up & W**d Out Workday at the Shorewood Nature Preserve, removing invasive species,
clearing trails, and helping restore this land.

Walking along the lakeshore is a critical part of public access to Lake Michigan, which is a vital public resource for fishing, boating, recreation, and commerce. We are happy to see the Milwaukee County Circuit Court's decision recognize the public’s strong right to do so.
