It is with great sadness that I share this news with our Club members.

In Memoriam: Sigrid …

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our D30 Parliamentarian, past Governor, past International Director Sigrid Duden.

Sigrid understood that Zonta requires personal commitment, and she advanced its mission with dedication and perseverance, believing that building a better world for women and girls takes sustained effort. She worked closely with clubs and areas, encouraging initiatives, listening, and offering guidance when needed. She also believed it was vital to recognize emerging challenges, remain open-minded, explore new ways of thinking, and continue successful work without becoming stagnant. Her knowledge of four languages contributed to her work, allowing her not only to be well understood, but to be warmly welcomed as friend all over the District countries and the whole Zonta world.

She is unforgettable!

May her soul rest in peace!

Thank you for what you do!

At the Milwaukee Women’s Center, each day begins with small acts of consistency. Guests sign in and out as they leave to look for housing, attend appointments, or take their children to school. The front desk serves as the center of connection. It is staffed around the clock, in three shifts, by Client Support Specialists (CSS), and is both a point of entry and steady presence.

The phone rings constantly. Some calls are simple—requests for information or referrals. Many are not. Often the question is the same: Is there a bed available?
“The hardest part if when we don’t have space,” one staff member said. “But that doesn’t mean we stop helping. We just have to help differently.”
