U.P. families were part of the conversation at Mackinac today.

The takeaway from this afternoon's panel: Rx Kids rises above political divides. The bipartisan and business-sector case for investing in families during pregnancy and infancy is strong and the data from communities across Michigan backs it up.

Today at 1 p.m., Megan Murphy joins the conversation at the Mackinac Policy Conference to talk Rx Kids, rural health, and what financial stability means for U.P. families.

Rx Kids isn't a Detroit story. It's a Michigan story. Megan Murphy, CEO of Superior Health Foundation, has seen firsthand what happens when Rx Kids reaches rural communities in the Upper Peninsula.

Families gain stability. Local economies feel it. Bipartisan support in the U.P. shows this is about shared values, not party politics.

Megan joins us May 28 at . We can't wait to hear her perspective.

Tomorrow at the Mackinac Policy Conference , four panelists will take the stage to answer one question: what are we willing to do for Michigan's children?

Rx Kids is the nation's first community-wide parent and infant cash prescription program and it rises above political divides. Thursday's panel will explore the bipartisan and business-sector case for a program that provides financial stability during the critical period of pregnancy and infancy.

SHF CEO Megan Murphy joins Rx Kids founder Dr. Mona Hanna, W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research President Michael Horrigan, and Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan President and CEO Nicole Sherard-Freeman for "Rx Kids: A Data-Driven Discussion on Health and Economic Outcomes" May 28 at 1 p.m. in the Grand Pavilion at the Grand Hotel.

A baby born in the U.P. and a baby born in Ann Arbor arrive with the same theoretical access to care. But the reality for U.P. families looks very different.

SHF CEO Megan Murphy joined U.P. Health Plan CEO Melissa Holmquist to make the case for Rx Kids in our region. The op-ed makes clear why expanding this cash support program for pregnant women and new mothers isn't just good for families, it's good for the entire Upper Peninsula.

We partnered with the Michigan Health Endowment Fund for our second annual partner convening, bringing over 80 grantees together yesterday for a day centered around shared ideas, connections, and learning.

Congratulations to Gogebic Community College as this year's recipient of the Superior Impact Award, given to a grant partner whose work has made a significant community impact. Gogebic Community College was selected for expanding EMS training capacity across rural U.P. communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success. We're looking forward to sharing more highlights in the days to come.
