Looking back at July 22! 🏡

It was a great day bringing together community leaders, employers, lenders, housing partners, and future homeowners to discuss solutions for attainable housing in Marquette County.

A few key takeaways:
• Housing is economic development and is critical to attracting and retaining talent.
• Strong public-private partnerships make workforce housing possible.
• Homebuyer education and financing tools, like down payment assistance, help create pathways to homeownership.
• Collaboration between developers, municipalities, residents, lenders, and community partners is essential to building attainable housing.

Across Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Build U.P. has reached a major milestone by committing nearly $15 million to housing projects that are helping communities grow and thrive.
The impact so far:

🏠 325 housing units supported
💰 $82.6 million in total housing investment
📍 24 projects across 10 U.P. counties

Several of these projects are right here in Marquette County, where new housing developments are helping address workforce housing needs and creating opportunities for residents, employers, and our communities.

Housing remains one of the region's greatest economic challenges and one of our greatest opportunities. Partnerships like Build U.P. are helping move projects from planning to reality.
