No one tells ya ninety-percent of life is trying to figure out which way to go next, and learning how to get back on track after takin' multiple wrong turns. Adventure Bike Club does that.

When we think of success we think of going fast and clearing one of those tricky obstacles you've been working on for months, but some of the biggest successes don't happen on the bike.

Sometimes... the success is helping a child work through the first time their parent leaves them at Adventure Bike Club. It's tough... but they have to learn how to work through it, and ya know what? They always do. They just need a little time.

Sometimes... the success is watching a child start to open up and participate in the conversation. Honestly, there's no bike skill that is more important than that.

Sometimes... Adventure BIke (and Hike) Club isn't about hiking and biking at all. It's about taking the time to meet them where they are - and helping em' see where they can go.

Gluski Park. Week 2. Rock Solid is focused on the hub and pump track. A lot of material has been brought onto the site for both of these features. If you're in the neighborhood keep an eye out for the trucks because they'll continue to haul for the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of traffic and all of the activity around the property... It is pretty busy right now. If you''d like to see what they're doin' in the backyard check it out form the pedestrian corridor. The site is not open to the public right now. If you wanna get a closer look give me a holler. I would be happy to take you out there, but there are certain protocols we have to follow.

We'll continue to post pics and videos. We're excited to see that you are as excited about the project as we are. Everyone stoppin' by the office to ask questions have been great.

More to come!

Over the next couple of weeks our Adventure Teams will wrap up programming and prepare to go back to school. To all of the folks who volunteered this summer - Thank You. To the parents...thank you for trusting us with your kids. And to the kids... thank you for helping us feel like kids again.

A guy wrote in a while back asking we've started to develop hike teams. He basically said, "You're a bike group. You don't have to try to be everything to everyone. Why worry about hiking?"

To that gentleman - thank you for asking the question. Here's the motivation behind what we're doing.

The outdoor space can be traversed a number of ways. Folks can ride, hike, walk, run, use a quad or a SXS, etc. We experience the outdoors in different ways, but we're out there for similar reasons and that should bring us together. However, too often it puts two or more groups at odds with each other. We compete for access. We argue over trails... when it should be the thing that binds us.

Adventure is universal. We all love it. Kids are universal, too. Who doesn't want the best for them? We want them to have access to opportunities we didn't have, right? That's what 906AT has been here to do from the beginning. Get more kids, and adults, outside exploring. Help them learn through experience - they are capable and the world isn't this big scary place we need to hide from... we just need to develop the skills to thrive there.

Our identity as a biker or a hiker, or a motorized trail user should not supersede our role in the community - a role that requires all of us to consider thy neighbor, and always work toward a greater good. Community requires sacrifice - it's called give and take for those who are not familiar.

When we hear from parents that they'd love to get their kids into the program, but the kids don't ride bikes we took notice, and we saw no good reason why we wouldn't extend an invitation to their kids because going back to the mission and goals... we just want to get more kids and people outside... and bring them together.

When we find ourselves divided we need to look in the mirror and realize we (people) are part of the problem, and all we have to do is shift our thinking and suddenly... we're part of the solution 👊
