Looking for a fun way to support local first responders? This weekend is the Faust Fest Hockey Tournament. The event raises funds to support first responders and organizations in our area. The event includes many great hockey players including some current and former UW Women's Hockey players. Many great raffle prizes including a 2026 autographed UW Women's Gold Medal Jersey.

Madison Fire's Hockey will be playing both days.
Saturday at 1145am and 715pm
Sunday at 830am

Yesterday, Fire Fighters Local 311 hosted its biannual retirement celebration at Barnwood Events WI. With over 100 retirees, family, and friends in attendance, the evening was a meaningful tribute to years of service, filled with shared stories and plenty of laughter.

Big news for our community!
This week, both the Village of Windsor and the Village of DeForest officially approved construction of DeForest Windsor Fire & EMS Station #2!
This project marks an important step forward in strengthening emergency response capabilities, improving service coverage, and ensuring we continue to provide the highest level of fire and EMS protection for our growing communities.
Station #2 will help reduce response times, support our dedicated personnel, and better serve residents, businesses, and visitors throughout both Windsor and DeForest.
We are grateful for the collaboration, support, and shared vision from both communities that made this possible. This investment is an investment in public safety, preparedness, and the future of our communities.
We look forward to sharing updates as construction moves forward!

The Richard Garner Memorial Fund was created to honor the life of City of Madison Fire Fighter/Paramedic Richard Garner Jr. who died in the line of duty on April 1, 2018. Richard was not only a great Fire Fighter/Paramedic and dear friend to many, but he was a constant fixture within the Madison Community, helping and serving in any way he could. One of the many initiatives our L311 Charities supports is raising funds to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Members attended their yearly boot camp yesterday at Miller Park.

A great reunion happened today. Our L311 members of Madison Fire Station 11 hosted the first coffee and donut gathering of retirees. A good time was had by all.

Today we remember the Line of Duty Death of Firefighter/Paramedic Richard Lance Garner Jr. Richard Garner Jr. completed a 48 hour shift at 0700hrs on April 1, 2018, during which he responded to nineteen emergency calls. Later that day, between the times of 1200hrs and 1300hrs, Garner collapsed at a private residence in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. Firefighter-Paramedic Garner was treated at the scene by the local EMS and transported to the hospital where he passed away. Firefighter-Paramedic Garner joined the Madison Fire Department in 2012 and served as a firefighter/EMT until he became a paramedic in 2017.

Big congratulations to our local Wisconsin Women's Hockey team. They’ve continued to show how good they are by winning their 9th National championship. Their win also led to some cool moments for some of our L311 Members.

Members from Engine 4 working last night were able to help es**rt the team home to the LaBahn Center. Members from Madison, Sun Prairie, and Oregon took part in the es**rt along with other local first responders. Today members from Station 1 were able to help the team with a fun photo op on campus.
