I’m glad that there will be some accountability, but let me be the first to admit that whatever the fines end up being, they’re not enough. We have to do more. We have to be better at protecting what is most important.

Today the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources sent Enbridge a letter alleging they are illegally violating their Line 5 permits and Wisconsin law. The violations listed are wide-reaching with serious consequences.

Governor Tony Evers and the DNR can revoke Enbridge’s Line 5 reroute permit for good cause. This includes failure to comply. Join us in calling them today to make this ask!

Earlier this fall, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) authorized the killing of 9 Price County wolves, eliminating almost an entire pack or family unit. The Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission and the Tribes that the DNR is obligated to comanage Wisconsin's wolves with were not notified until after the wolves were killed.

Last week Enbridge breached an aquifer near the Marengo River during construction of the Line 5 reroute.

Ashland county, where this breach occurred, is facing extreme drought. This aquifer breach raises numerous concerns, including how wells and local waterways will be impacted.

Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources can revoke Enbridge’s Line 5 reroute permit for good cause. This includes failure to comply.
