TODAY is the day! Registration for Bike the Barns is open NOW 🚲 🥳

Get ready to roll on Sunday, September 20th for a day packed with local flavor, live music, farm tours, and serious fun. This isn’t just a bike ride - it’s a full-on celebration of community, farms, and food. Learn more and register at csacoalition.org/bike-the-barns

And the best part? It’s all for a cause! When you register for Bike the Barns, you are helping everyone in our community access fresh, local food from a CSA farmer. And when you go the extra mile as a fundraiser rider, you’re turning your pedals into an even more powerful impact!

Want to skip the bike but still join the fun? Bus the Barns is your ticket to everything Bike the Barns offers (tasty local food & drink, behind-the-scenes farm tours, an amazing community experience) with a guided bus tour. PEAS don’t miss out! CSA season is almost upon us and time is running out to get your share ⏰

Sign up now to get a weekly box of fresh, local produce and support the farmers who grow it. Joining a CSA means you're not just eating better - you're helping keep local farms thriving!

Thanks to support from Heartland Credit Union, we’re able to help more farmers grow the food you love and connect eaters with the local harvest all season long.

Hear that buzz? It's World Bee Day! 🐝

Did you know one out of every three bites of food you eat depends on pollinators like bees? They're the tiny heroes behind so much of what ends up on our plates.

Supporting local farms that practice pollinator-friendly practices, like planting diverse crops, avoiding harmful pesticides, and planting habitats for bees is one easy (and delicious) way to help pollinators thrive.

Check out this sweet read from Edible Madison about bees, honey, and the care that goes into keeping it all going: ediblemadison.com/stories/honey. Then head to their recipe archives for more delicious ways to drizzle, dunk, and devour your way through a jar of local honey! 🍯

We had the pleasure of hosting an Access Hour on WORT FM this past Monday, May 11 - and lucky for you, we have the recording!

Listen here: bit.ly/access-hour-2026

Together with some amazing guests in studio and via audio clips, we dug into some big (and important) questions:

🥕 What is resilience?
🥕 How are our local farmers adapting to changing climates and markets?
🥕 What are ways in which we, as eaters and community members, can contribute to resilient food communities?

Grab a snack & tune in when you have a moment. We'd love to hear what you think!

Huge appreciation to Hinu, Executive Director of the Ho-Chunk Nation Department of Agriculture; Kristoff, apprentice from Squashington Farm and Atoms to Apples; and Rami of Atoms to Apples for joining us in the studio.

And thank you to Nan & Elena from the Department of Community & Environmental Sociology at UW-Madison; Lauren from Happy Day Farmhaus; Annia, Bella, and chal from we have always been related; Laura from Orange Cat Community Farm; David from Lovefood Farm; Patty from Wonka’s Harvest; Sarah from Squashington Farm; and Mark from Voss Organics for sharing their stories via audio clips during the program!

It’s National Bike to Work Week! We think that’s the perfect excuse to dust off your spokes and start pedaling - whether it’s to your 9–5, your favorite farmers market, or just around the block for fun.

Biking is a great way to explore your community, get some fresh air, and feel connected to the places (and people) around you. And hey - if you're riding now, you’re already training for Bike the Barns this fall!

Every ride counts, whether it’s for your commute or for a cause. Get those wheels turning now and you’ll be ready to go the distance for local farms on September 20!

Today, we’re celebrating two delicious things: local veggies AND National Shrimp Day!

Spring CSA shares are brimming with spring greens, radishes, ramps, and asparagus.

And just like our farmers bring you food you can trace back to the land, our friends at Sitka Seafood Market do the same from the sea! They deliver traceable, sustainably harvested seafood straight from Alaskan waters, including wild-caught shrimp that pairs perfectly with spring vegetables.

Whether it’s crisp produce from nearby fields or wild shrimp from clean, cold waters, knowing where your food comes from means fresher flavors, healthier ecosystems, and stronger communities 💚

“Share”-ing a few signs of spring to your feed today!

Getting that first fresh taste of new growth is the true sign the growing season is upon us.

Spring CSA shares are going out to members, but some farms still have summer shares available - find your farm today at csacoalition.org/farm-search and enjoy the upcoming bounty of the seasons!
