Join us on Valentine’s Day to tell UW Chancellor Mnookin that UW Madison graduate students, faculty, and staff demand 12 weeks of paid leave. Our paid leave petition now has over 600 signatures - we will be delivering our petition in person at 4pm on the 14th to the Chancellor’s office. Since it’s Valentine’s day, we have handwritten dozens of Valentines with stories from UW grad students and employees about trying to get paid leave at UW. Join us! Also, if you would to read the petition and sign on here’s the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfiHQQEfR7DTKwZ5q2jomvZnA9Tm9KXO--IXvHoRKpeKC7J1w/viewform?pli=1

UW-Madison currently does not have a standardized policy for paid family and medical leave. Governor Tony Evers has proposed 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave as a part of his state budget plan for this year; however, there is no guarantee that this provision will be included in the final version of the budget. As such, the campus labor unions at UW-Madison have put together this open letter to Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin urging her to adopt a 12 week paid family & medical leave policy for all UW Madison employees. You can read the letter here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sHLa5JVlpHpjGSeb6VAnnCAZpy5fuLkVMHZAF9Cj35M/edit?usp=sharing

Not even our bosses can keep us from getting together– a little rain is nothing! If you’ve never been to James Madison Park before, there’s a rain shelter for those of us who’d rather stay dry, but it’s not a bad idea to bring a towel or umbrella.

Remember: 4pm–late @ James Madison Park! Can't wait to see you 💖
