What if...the dentist could come to you?

Recently, we partnered with Compass Health Mobile Dental Clinic to do just that in our Columbia, MO communities. Residents got exams, X-rays, cleanings and even extractions, with care available right where they live and at a cost they could better afford.

When money is tight, something has to give — and if you don't have dental insurance, routine care is usually the first thing to go. But teeth don't wait for a better budget. A small cavity turns into a big one. A tooth starts to ache. And the care you couldn't afford suddenly becomes the care you can't afford to skip.

World Smile Day is a great reminder that a little care can go a long way, and our neighbors are smiling a little brighter because of it.

Apparently, it's a pretty big week for Phoenix Family. ❤️💛

Just two days after sharing one piece of incredible news, we finally get to share another one we've been keeping under wraps for three months.

Phoenix Family has been selected as the next beneficiary of the Chiefs Charity Game, beginning in 2027!

Over the next few years, we'll have the chance to introduce Phoenix Family to thousands more people across Chiefs Kingdom and bring more people and resources into the work happening every day in our communities.

That means more kids building the reading skills they need to succeed in school, graduate and have a path out of poverty. More families building the stability and skills they need to move forward. And more older adults getting the support they need to remain independent and connected.

We are so grateful to the The Kansas City Chiefs and Hunt Family Foundation for this opportunity, and we can't wait to see what we can do together.

We have some big news to share!

Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has awarded Phoenix Family $3 million over three years to launch a new program designed to help families living in affordable housing increase their income and exit poverty.

This program has been 18 months in the making. Phoenix Family, our nonprofit partners and program participants brought different experiences, ideas and perspectives to the table and built it together. Most importantly, the work was grounded in the lived experience of the families the program is being created to serve.

Now, the grant will allow us to expand our Life Coaching program from one Life Coach to a team, fund Navigators with our nonprofit partners and provide help with barriers like childcare, transportation and car repairs that can make it difficult to get or keep a job. Over the next three years, we'll bring this work to families in nine Kansas City affordable housing communities.

We can't wait to get started!

Sometimes the best afternoons are the simplest ones.

Our residents over at Marlborough Manor gathered for some good food, good company, and an excuse to pull up a chair next to a neighbor. No agenda, just time spent together celebrating Labor Day.

That kind of connection is something we never take for granted around here.
