Sometimes Holy Spirit will lead you to the top of a parking garage. You stand up there praying for the lost, praying a blessing over Springfield, and in the middle of it you hear in your mind, “I have a great desire to pray with you.” You realize those words are not your words. Looking around, you see a girl sitting on the ledge facing the city with her back to you and headphones on. Holy Spirit is asking you to pray for her. Out of nowhere your spouse turns to you, “You gonna pray with her?”

You walk up to the girl slowly, giving wide birth. It’s dark out and you don’t want to scare her. You smile, introduce yourself and explain what you just heard, “ I have a great desire to pray with you.” With tears in her eyes, she looks at you, “I was just put on antidepressants today and was asking God for a sign.” She laugh-cries, as she begins to share her heart. You hug her and pray, knowing that God just orchestrated this moment because He sees her and you were willing.

Be led today. Even if it’s inconvenient or unplanned. Go slower. Pay attention.
The words you hear may not be your own, but Jesus’ Spirit gently encouraging you to take a risk, hold a hand, say a prayer, to see a soul right where they are ❤️

This is what church discipleship looks like when there is no building to go to. Every Tuesday we gather to study the word of God on a sidewalk. We fellowship, eat, and enjoy genuine friendship. We go through life together. Whether it is praying a mother through her son being locked up or a girl gaining back custody of her children, we are walking through it side by side.

And it is not without fruit. We pressed into the Living Free Bible study and chains were loosed as conviction called us upward. Some are quitting smoking, others gave chew. Liquor bottles are being poured down the drain, unhealthy relationships aborted, while healthy relationships are put in covenant. The precious woman who had m**h addiction broken off her faithfully attends. The children are witnessing all of it, learning to pray with people and earnestly read their bibles, too.

It all began with a simple prayer that He make us holy, as He is holy, and that He would give us the strength and desire to please Him. And Jesus is answering us ⚡️

Jeremy and I were overdue for a date night, and our mobile ministry night was a beautiful way to bond. We got in the car and instead of driving to the spots we knew, we asked Holy Spirit where He wanted us to go.

Upon arrival at the first location, we encountered Jack, the one. He was heartbroken and asking God for help. Beside him lay a shattered bottle of booze. He was desperate. After praying bo***ge off him and loading him down with clean socks, a blanket, and supplies, I encouraged him to eat the chicken noodle soup we had brought out. Crazy enough he pulled out $20 to bless our ministry. I did not want to accept, but Jeremy in his wisdom knew that Jack was sowing into the kingdom of God from his heart. We pray blessings over Jack, for freedom to reign in his mind and body and that He would be able to hear the Lord clearly again. Jack really loves Jesus. Please agree with us for his healing.

Holy Spirit then led us to a part of town we don’t normally minister at. Little did we know, there were people waiting for us. Just before we arrived, one of the men encouraged the others to hold on and wait. “They’re almost here,” he prophetically stated, and then we pulled in! Don’t you know that we had just enough blankets, supplies, soup, and clean socks for everyone there? We spent time praying with each person and listening to their heart. They so needed the encouragement and love from the family of God.

Please do not just go to church to receive. As Paul Marc Goulet once said, “Be filled so you can spill!” Give it away, everything you have received that week-the encouragement, the hope, the love. It is meant to be given away. At graceRIOT, our goal is to die on empty.

Drew does an amazing, calm, and patient job on campus talking to students about Jesus.
As Drew shared with this student (Luke), Luke began to feel “som**hing coursing” through him!

As Drew and I discussed, John 14:6 is a good verse to segue into the gospel and leading someone to Christ. I tag- teamed in to lead Luke to Jesus… “Jesus says He is the way, the truth, and the life, and nobody gets to the Father but through Him.”

The next day, Jeremy and Drew met up to give Luke a Bible. Now Luke is joining Drew at the Potter’s House for bible study!! Beautiful moment, beautiful team❤️ Welcome into the Kingdom another son!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Sometimes you just gotta get out to a field in north KC with some Jesusfreaks and WORSHIP Him!!!

The 20th Nehemiah Festival… we joined up with our little bro Dominique Warren whom we met out evangelizing last December in KC and together we wild out with the Lord (turn around!)!! We got to see old friends NEXTERA and meet new ones Erskin Anavitarte Eleni Naomi and Eversmith.

So grateful for a moment away to praise Him together (in the middle of the storm no less!!). Nehemiah Fest, we will see you next year 😎

Last year, I felt a strong burden to build a team of intercessors who would faithfully cover graceRIOT in prayer. Because our ministry often takes us into unpredictable situations—onto the streets, into difficult neighborhoods, and into encounters with people from many different backgrounds—I knew prayer covering was essential.

At the time, the right team had not yet come together. When I asked the Lord about it, He said, “…You will find them in the house church.” I didn’t fully understand what He meant, so I tucked those words away and waited.

Several months later, Jesus led us beyond what was familiar and into a home gathering. Through that step of obedience, God brought together the very people He had chosen to intercede for graceRIOT—and they have been an incredible gift!

For the first time in the history of our ministry, we now have dedicated intercessors praying daily for our mission, and bi- weekly as a team!! They are everything to our ministry ❤️

I went for an early morning walk this week and found myself on the phone with one of our intercessors. I spied a young worker blocking the road so it could get paved and asked the intercessor to hold on for a moment, because I would need to pray with him.

As I approached the guy and began talking, she started praying. I ended up leading him to Jesus, and he surrendered his life while the intercessor was quietly praying on the phone! It was such a beautiful moment reflecting the power of evangelism and prayer working together!

Welcome into the Kingdom another son! ⚡️

I met Michael Whitaker at a gas station late one night a year ago and asked if I could pray for him. He reluctantly agreed, not knowing what I believed. Somewhere in the conversation I told him about graceRIOT and what we do. Michael told me God had been calling him to evangelize and he had been running from this calling for years. He said he had to leave for basic training but when he got back he was going to look me up. I said okay, but let me be honest- seldom are people men and women of their word. We parted ways.

So when I got his message in the spring, I was impressed with his integrity. Michael began to come to our home gathering. Really pressing into Jesus, not looking for hype but sincerity. As the months wore on, God opened up space for us to really mentor him in evangelism, in his testimony.

But every time Michael stepped out to evangelize, the enemy would almost try to intimidate him. The right time came though, and as Michael stepped out in faith, he overcame any fear. From there it was go time. Now he evangelizes like it is nothing. He can talk to anyone about who he used to be and that Jesus loves them. We often evangelize side by side now.

We have witnessed Michael’s incredible growth, commitment, and talents God has given him to be effective for the Kingdom. It is so edifying to watch someone produce fruit with their lives before your very eyes!

To cap it off, Michael got baptized last week. He just keeps going up, Up, UP. And that’s what happens with a surrendered, willing vessel. You overcome! So proud of you, Michael ⚡️

A Yes can be such a simple thing, yet our Yes can be an answer to someone else’s prayer. God put us in touch with a pastor out in Rogersville one Sunday. The day we met, I started testifying about what Jesus had done- Pastor Eric got to testifying, and we became quick friends. I called him one day, asking if his church would have any interest in creating hygiene packs for our Back to School Bash. They said yes, they would love to help.

We met at their church Henderson Baptist Church, Rogersville, Mo last week, and they loaded my car down with every hygiene item you could think of, divided into bags for each child. We prayed together, and they sent me on my way. The next day I went to the motel to check on the water and power supply for the upcoming event.

A Christian woman landed in my path who had just checked in the day before with her four kids. She had lost her home and said she was about to lose faith. I prayed with her and brought her out to the car to give her a couple hygiene packs still loaded in there from the night prior. She started crying- she said those bags were an answer from God. Her prayer to God was a simple one, soap for her children. ❤️

This church had no way of knowing that in saying Yes to graceRIOT, they were going to answer someone’s specific prayer the very next day. Isn’t that what God is looking for? Yeses with no ROI (return on investment). Yeses that do nothing for self but a whole lot for some. “Yes” is how we further the Kingdom together!!! ⚡️

I commend this church for looking outside their own needs to help this community and for blessing households with much- needed essentials. Thank you for your Yes!
