KC Can Compost is an innovative social and environmental enterprise conceived by Shelter KC, a charity that provides homeless men and women compassionate relief services and long-term recovery support. Behind every number is a life changed. 🌿✨

​Celebrating Bruce Holloway’s incredible impact through the Green Core Training program:

​28 cohorts led (16 at TCKC since 2022)

​256 total graduates (149 from TCKC)

​209 earned U.S. Department of Labor Environmental Specialist credentials

​94 provided hands-on opportunities at the West 9th Street community garden

​Numbers tell part of the story, but the real impact is in the lives, relationships, and green future built along the way.

Huge Happy Birthday and a massive thank you to our Summer Intern, ! 🎉🎂

As Caroline wraps up her time with us and heads back to school for her senior year, we want to celebrate everything she accomplished this summer. She was a total force across so many projects, from keeping our Compost Crew running smoothly and educating hundreds of visitors at Fan Fest, to capturing great social media content and organizing our backend communication reference docs so we actually know where everything is.

Caroline, thank you for your hard work, your endless energy, and for keeping all of us on our toes every single day! We are going to miss having you around the office.
