We're ready for another fun evening of Tuesday Night Kids Rides (TNKR) tomorrow! πŸš΅πŸš΅πŸΏβ€β™€οΈπŸš΅πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

Meet at the Monte Sano State Park bikers parking lot pavilion starting at 5:15 to get checked in. $5 or an annual pass are required for access to the park. We'll get kiddos split into groups around 5:45, wheels roll around 6:00, and we'll have everyone back around 7:00 for sweet treats courtesy of local bike shop Bicycle Cove !

If this is your kiddo's first TNKR of the season, don't forget to bring a printed, signed copy of the Junior waiver available on our website: https://www.hamrhsv.com/tnkr

All kiddos should also have water that they can carry with them on their bikes, properly fitted helmets, and bikes capable of off-road use. Our volunteers will sort them into age and skill appropriate groups!

Want to volunteer? Adults with proof of a background check are welcome to sign up for volunteer spots, as are older ACA kiddos! Volunteer form can be found at our website: https://www.hamrhsv.com/tnkr

Full details and answers to your questions can be found online: https://www.hamrhsv.com/tnkr

See everyone tomorrow!

Looking around Monte Sano State Park, there are not many water fountains. This is especially true at the trailheads. So what if we could get one that is freeze resistant, a bottle refill station, and even a dog watering station? The Huntsville Area Mountainbike Riders (HAMR) have already secured funds for the fountain itself. We need to raise $9,200 more to get it installed. Can you help us reach that mark?

Hey all! Between having a few too many volunteers out of town this week and questionable trail conditions after all of the rain again, we're going to cancel TNKR this week. Fingers crossed we'll see everyone back out next week!

We're taking this rainy Sunday morning to also do a quick shout out to our volunteers who recently repaired a badly washed out section of trail at John Hunt Park! πŸŽ‰ They installed turf pavers at the jumps washout and are working with the park to do more to address the erosion there and in a few other spots. More to come! βš’οΈ

What do we want? Weedeaters! When do we want them? Saturday!

With ALL of the rain over the last few weeks, our trails are starting to look a little like a jungle! We'll be taking loppers out to trim back overgrowth, and would love a few volunteers to bring weedeaters capable of some heavier-than-average use. Work day will run from 9-noon meeting at the tool shed at the bikers' lot .

Please wear/bring long pants, closed toe shoes, protective eyewear, and portable hydration. Those operating weedeaters will likely want long sleeves, too (flying bits of poison ivy are not fun!).

See you there!
