The Downtown Rescue Mission, an Alabama non-profit, is a place of refuge offering programs, hot meals and warm beds for homeless and hurting men, women and children in our community. We are a Christ-centered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to bringing the hope of the Gospel to the hurting, hungry, and homeless in our community. For more than four decades, the Lord has used our programs and services to rescue and transform lives for His glory.

Today’s Feed America First was a success as we continued serving families in our community with food and support.

While we didn’t have volunteer groups with us today, our team came together to make it happen. We’re thankful for the teamwork and dedication of our staff who stepped in to help serve our neighbors and ensure everything ran smoothly.

We're looking for volunteers to help us get ready for our annual Independence Day Picnic on July 2. Volunteer tasks may include setting up tables and chairs, decorating, preparing food areas, and other event setup activities.

Please note that some tasks may involve heavy lifting, so come prepared to help wherever needed!

Come celebrate with us on July 2 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM for a fun-filled afternoon of food, fellowship, and community! 🍔🌭 We'll have hamburgers, hot dogs, games, activities, and plenty of opportunities to connect with friends, family, and neighbors.
