FSC seeks to involve Minority-Owned, Women-Owned, and Section 3 Business Enterprises (MWBE) to participate in our single-family housing construction program. As a recipient of HUD and HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding through our partnership with the City of Huntsville, Alabama – Community Development Department, we are committed to promoting economic opportunities and fostering an inclusive local contracting community.

Opportunities can include:
• Residential General Contracting
• Specialty Trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Roofing)
• Demolition and Site Preparation
• Material Supply and Professional Services

🌟 Staff Spotlight 🌟

Meet Chaniece Hicks, MSW, our HMIS Coordinator!

Chaniece has a background in social work and enjoys helping people, solving problems, and making a difference in the community. At FSC, she works with HMIS, supporting data, reports, training, and making sure our information is accurate and useful. She also gets out into the community doing outreach and connecting with people who may need support and resources.

One thing Chaniece enjoys most about her work is knowing that what she does behind the scenes and out in the community can make a real difference.

Outside of work, Chaniece enjoys traveling, self care, and enjoying life.

Her message to the community is simple: “people experiencing homelessness are people first. Showing compassion, listening without judgment, and treating people with dignity can go a long way”.

We appreciate you, Chaniece! 💙

Family Services Center has been chosen to be a participant in the Target Circle Guest Directed Giving which launches today, October 1, 2026, and voting will remain open through December 31, 2026.

How it works
As a Target Circle member, guests earn a vote for each Target trip they make. You can then use those votes to direct where funds go in support of nonprofits in the community and we would be honored to be considered as this will help with our mission of Creating Healthier Families and Stronger Communities.

Once each voting period wraps up, Target awards grants to the nonprofits based on the percentage of votes they receive.

You can vote for Family Services Center via the Target app or at: https://www.target.com/circle/community-voting/.

Supporters using the Target app should be taken directly to the voting experience using this link. Those without the app can use the same link in a web browser and once signed in to their Target Circle account, access voting there.
