⚓️ **Female Veterans Wanted | Board Leadership + Mentorship Opportunity** 🎀

Anchored In Honor Foundation Inc. is actively looking for **female U.S. military veterans** who are ready to lead, serve, mentor, and help shape the future of this organization.

Our mission is bigger than putting veterans on boats. 🎣

We serve those who served by creating healing, connection, and purpose through fishing, boating, and outdoor experiences. But we are also building an avenue for the next generation. That means our youth need to see strong examples of leadership from both women and men who understand service, discipline, resilience, accountability, and community.

We are looking for women veterans who may be interested in:

⚓️ Serving on the Anchored In Honor board
🎀 Helping lead veteran and youth-focused programs
🌊 Mentoring girls and boys in a safe, structured environment
🎣 Supporting fishing, boating, outdoor, and community events
🛡️ Helping us build something that lasts beyond one person, one boat, or one event

Female veterans bring a perspective this mission needs. Our girls need to see women who have served, led, overcome, and continued to give back. Our boys need that example too.

This organization will serve veterans, but it will also help shape young people who need guidance, structure, protection, and positive role models.

Because we will be working with youth, **all adults involved in youth-facing programs will be required to complete a background check and any required government-regulated mentor training.** 🛡️

We are building this the right way.

🎣 Volunteer Veterans Fishing Guide Needed | Galveston Bay / Clear Lake Area

Anchored In Honor Foundation Inc. is looking for U.S. Military Veterans who know the water, know how to fish, and want to help other veterans experience something real, meaningful, and healing.

We are looking for a local fishing expert, captain, or experienced fishing enthusiast who knows great fishing locations, techniques, seasonal patterns, bait, tackle, and the waters around Galveston Bay, Clear Lake, and surrounding areas. We want to make sure each veteran goes home with cooler full of fresh local fish.

This volunteer role could be crucial in helping us get groups of veterans out on the water and actually catching fish.

Some of the veterans we serve may have never fished before. Others may just need a day away from the noise. Either way, the goal is simple:

Show up. Guide. Teach. Help veterans connect.

Typical outings may include small groups of 5–7 veterans, with larger trips possible as donations, sponsorships, and grants allow us to expand.

Volunteer hours can be counted and reported for eligible agencies, programs, or work requirements. We would also love for the right person to consider this as a long-term commitment, with the potential to grow into a board or leadership role within the organization.

With Juneteenth a little over a month away, I've been kicking around an idea for Juneteenth weekend and wanted to gauge interest before putting real wheels in motion.
Thinking about organizing a laid-back “Juneteenth On The Water” social around Galveston. Birthplace of Juneteenth

Possibly involving:
-Marina meetup
-boat run/sandbar gathering
-Food on the beach
-ci**rs
-music
-veterans
-networking
-Introducing more people to boating culture who normally never get exposure to it
-BYO Everything

I don't want to create another ratchet turn-up event. The goal is something elevated but still relaxed and authentic.

A lot of people have never:
-been on a boat
-docked at a marina
-experienced the boating community
-seen Black maritime culture outside of music videos

Trying to build something different.

Trying to see how many boaters, mariners, veterans, families, and good people would actually show up before moving forward.

We are currently running a campaigne to raise funds for our first FULL fishing charter with Capt Chop at In The Zone Fishing Charters... But I really think we should try to set up a Shark Trip ASAP....
