Not everyone can be a foster parent, but everyone can do something. Have you thought about what your something is? What about for your family or your kids or your spouse? What about your work or your colleagues? Your church? We all have a part to play in the lives of kids who have experienced abuse and neglect. Take the time to reach out to us and find out what you can do to help bring permanency and healing to children and families from hard places.

We had a great time hanging out with our families at Blockhouse Coffee & Kitchen this past weekend! The weather was perfect for our parents to enjoy some iced coffee and the kids to run around outside being kids!

We love to host these events monthly to build relationships with foster, adoptive, and kinship families in area!

We have said this from the beginning and it still proves true. Everyone can do SOMETHING. We encourage you to investigate what your something could be. From providing babysitting or meals to making financial donations to volunteering at a family event, there are so many ways to get involved (as well as fostering obviously!).

For these two boys right here, this was claimed to be "the best day ever!" They were able to go Houston Habitat for Humanity warehouse and meet the team that built their custom designed play house and preview it before it was set up in their backyard.

A couple months ago, BEAR reached out offering to provide play houses for foster families through Habitat for Humanity and two of our families were selected! The families were able to choose the theme for the play house and bring the family by for the final reveal!

Thank you to Houston Habitat for Humanity and BEAR for loving on our families and kiddos and giving them "the best day ever!"

Did you know May is Foster Care Awareness Month? We believe every foster child deserves a permanent, healing home — not just temporary placement. In order to accomplish that, we not only train and equip our Sanctuary foster families, but we also then fiercely support them with uncommon, wraparound support.

Last weekend, Grace Church Houston hosted a Spring Family Fest for our foster, adoptive, and kinship families and they went above and beyond! The kids and families could pet some animals at the petting zoo, jump in the bounce house, play some lawn games, and enjoyed two different craft projects: rock painting and decoupaging the inside of an oyster shell with our Sanctuary Arts team volunteers. Of course, lunch was included and the weather was great to be outside and enjoy the sunshine!

Thank you so much to Grace Church for hosting this special day for us and our Arts Team for partnering with them to provide fun activities for our families to come in for community!
