BAHEP staff were pleased to attend a signing ceremony at College of the Mainland (COM) celebrating a growing partnership between COM and Gulf Copper LLC – Davie Defense.

Through this partnership, two U.S. Department of Labor-registered apprenticeships have been developed to connect Gulf Copper’s growing workforce needs with training and career opportunities for individuals across our region.

The collaboration is a great example of what can happen when industry and education work together to build a stronger, more skilled workforce.

We were honored to hear from COM leadership, the Board of Trustees and several elected officials as they highlighted the importance of this partnership and its impact on the region. BAHEP is proud to support efforts that strengthen workforce development and create new opportunities for the communities we serve.

BAHEP President Brian Freedman joined state lawmakers and community leaders this morning for Houston Day: To the Moon, hosted by the Greater Houston Partnership.

The event brought state lawmakers together for an immersive look at Houston, with each stop highlighting a different facet of the city and the industries, institutions and people that help define our region.

Following remarks, attendees toured the nearly completed Texas A&M Space Institute , which is slated to open November 20. The experience offered a firsthand look at the building and the role it will play in showcasing Houston’s continued leadership in space exploration and innovation.

Thank you to all who participated and made the event possible.
