Bay Area Habitat for Humanity

Bay Area Habitat for Humanity Building homes, communities, and hope in the Houston Bay Area!

Bay Area Habitat for Humanity Houston partners with local families in need to build safe, affordable homes that they can call their own. Through shelter, we empower people to build better futures for themselves and their families by completing financial literacy trainings, building homes alongside volunteers, and purchasing their homes with an affordable, no-interest mortgage.

In 1999, Linda and her 3 children moved into their Habitat home in Alvin, TX. 27 years later, she has officially paid off her mortgage and owns her beautiful home free and clear! 🏠🎉

Thank you so much to Miss Linda for allowing us to be part of your amazing journey, and thank you so much to all of our Habitat supporters who help make moments like this possible for families across our community. 💙

Every Habitat home is more than just a house. It’s a foundation for stability, security, and generational wealth that can last for decades to come. Linda’s story is a beautiful example of just how far that foundation can take a family. 🏡🛠 Happy World Habitat Day, and let's keep building!

Cheers to 3 years! 🥳 To celebrate her 3-Year Workiversary, Megan shares her top 3 favorite moments as the Executive Director at Bay Area Habitat for Humanity Houston! 💙🏡

“My favorite part about this job is that I get to see the best in people – our volunteers giving their time, our homeowners working to better their own lives, and so many diverse individuals and groups coming together to support a worthy cause!”

Join us in wishing Megan a very happy 3-Year Workiversary! 🎉

Look at that fresh coat of paint! 🎨🏠 Thank you to the Knights of Columbus Council 9310 and Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) volunteers for helping us paint Yolanda’s future home in Texas City! We love having our community out on the job site, helping bring these Habitat homes to life.

Our Habitat families build, purchase, and own their homes, but did you know they also get to customize their own paint colors? 🎨 Our homeownership program is a partnership, and that means families have a say in making their new house feel like home. From choosing their paint colors to putting in sweat equity on the build, they’re involved every step of the way.

We’re so excited to watch Yolanda’s home come together, and we're thankful to our awesome volunteers! 💙

Cheers to 35 years with our former and current Board of Directors! 🥂💙

From members of our very first founding Board to our current Board of Directors, it was so special to bring together our past and present to celebrate how far we’ve come and look ahead to an even brighter future.

Our time together sharing heartfelt stories, reflecting on our rich history, and remembering the many board members who helped shape our organization along the way was truly invaluable. 🏡 We’re so grateful for the many people who have helped build Bay Area Habitat for Humanity Houston into what it is today.

Thank you so much to our amazing hostess, Marge Ellison, for opening her home and hosting our Habitat Board Honoring Mixer! 🛠 Let's keep building!

We're sending a heartfelt THANK YOU and a warm farewell to our Construction Crew Leader, Eli! 💙

During his time with Bay Area Habitat for Humanity Houston, Eli helped build FOUR beautiful Habitat homes from the ground up. 🛠 From breaking ground and raising walls to celebrating each completed home at dedication, Eli was there every step of the way, engaging volunteers, streamlining construction processes, and creating a welcoming environment for every person (and cat!) who stepped onto our build sites.

We could not be more proud to have witnessed his growth, the community he has built, and the generational impact he has made through his work.

Thank you for everything you've done for our families and our community, Eli. We are so grateful for the time, care, and hard work you poured into every home, and we cannot wait to see where your journey takes you next. 🏡💙 Your Habitat family will be cheering you on every step of the way!

Thank you so much to the Rotary Club of Dickinson for welcoming Bay Area Habitat for Humanity Houston to your meeting today! 💙

It’s always special to connect with our amazing neighbors and community partners, and even more so when our board members like Steve Casey are part of the club!

Every Habitat home is a reflection of the community coming together, and we’re so excited to be building homes again in the community where our story began. 🏡 🛠 We were happy to share our plans to help three local families achieve first-time homeownership in Dickinson, which would not be possible without the incredible generosity of the Dale family and their land donation.

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Dickinson for giving us the opportunity to share more about our impact and the future of Habitat in Dickinson, and a special thank you to Doreen Hughes for inviting us today. 💙 We’re so grateful to be back in Dickinson!
