What a wonderful meeting today at the Greater Houston Pachyderm Club! We were delighted to welcome David Falloure, Author, as our guest speaker.

David took us on a fascinating journey through Nautical Texas — sharing captivating tales of the Port of Houston, the Houston Ship Channel, and the Port of Beaumont. His deep knowledge and passion for the waterways that shaped our region made for an engaging and memorable presentation.

We are grateful for his time and expertise, and our members came away with a whole new appreciation for the maritime history right here in our own backyard!

We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to our guest speaker, Jed Aplaca, President and CEO of the Houston Audubon Society, for joining the Greater Houston Pachyderm Club yesterday.

Jed delivered an engaging and insightful presentation on “Why Birds Matter to Houston?”—highlighting the critical role birds play in our local ecosystem, economy, and quality of life. From conservation efforts to the impact on our community, his perspective gave us plenty to think about.
