Cover letters may be annoying, but they get your resume noticed and foot in the door. Here's a quick cover letter ✔️list, with tips, to look at before submitting your cover letter:
.
✨ Nothing looks better on a cover letter than some quick reference wins. Obtained $1M in sales? Received 95% customer satisfaction annual average? Highlight those statistics. If nothing else, the reviewer will know you are a WINNER!
✨ No one wants to read a 2 or 3-page essay about your work experience. Prioritizes those skills and experiences most relevant for the position, and keep it under one page.
✨ This isn't a text message to your friend, be professional and formal in your tone.
✨ Your cover letter should mirror those highlighted aspects of your resume. Be on one accord, if not, the reviewer will notice.
✨If you know the hiring/department manager, address them! Don't know them... do some research, it speaks volumes.
✨ Who's going to hire you if you don't know the difference between, to, too, and two. Proofread your work, you only get one first impression.

Reprimanding a team member can be as unpleasant and stressful for the boss as it is for the person on the receiving end. It's often tempting for a leader to soften their overall message to avoid hurting the team member's feelings. However, it is important to make sure that the team member walks away from the conversation with a very clear understanding of the area requiring improvement, and how they can go about fixing it.
Many leaders employ the "sandwich" method of feedback—positive, negative, positive—in order to make sure employees feel valued even as you're asking them to up their game. But again, the team member should still understand exactly what areas they need to improve on and have a clear picture of what success in that area would look like. Plus, honesty is key. If you can't think of anything that the team member is doing really well at, don't make something up just to complete the feedback sandwich.

THE DOS + DON’TS OF APPLYING FOR JOBS 💖
{share this post if you agree!}

1️⃣ RESEARCH.😜
It is crucial you gather enough information about the company you are applying to. This will help you in tailoring your resume and interview responses specifically to the employer's needs.

2️⃣ BE SPECIFIC AND STRATEGIC IN YOUR APPLICATION

Don't just apply to every available vacancy for the sake of it. Apply ONLY to roles that are a fit and relevant to your skills and experience. This makes it easier for your personality to shine through.

3️⃣WORK REGULARLY ON YOUR MINDSET.🤯

Get your mind in shape through daily affirmations, journaling, gratitude work, and surrounding yourself with positivity.

Your mindset is critical to your job search success.

4️⃣SEE REJECTION AS A REDIRECTION

When the job doesn't swing your way, It is not the end of the world. Assess yourself, make changes where necessary and launch out even harder. If you don't give up, you will get even something better.

5️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING MATERIALS

Make sure your marketing materials (resume, cover letter, Social media, pitch) are up-to-date and tailored to suit each role.

So, you’re looking to level up your job search?

While we won’t completely know a company’s true culture until we actually step into the workplace, there are a few things you can do to determine if a company is a right fit for you.

A quick note on Glassdoor: Glassdoor is just like any other review site - take reviews with a grain of salt.

Remember that people with negative experiences are more likely to leave a review. What’s more important than one or two bad reviews is when there is a PATTERN across all reviews.

If you notice every review is mentioning the same few problems, it’s worth further consideration.

Discussing performance can be very stressful. It’s tough for managers to give feedback and even harder for employees to receive it. How organizations handle these conversations plays a huge role in an employee’s engagement and overall experience.
Performance conversations are perfect opportunities to make or break trust. An open, honest, and regular dialogue helps to build trust among employees, managers, and the organization at large. Employees want to know—and deserve to know—exactly where they stand in terms of performance.
Ongoing performance conversations can boost employee success by:
🟡 Helping employees identify their needs, desires, and challenges
🟡 Cluing managers in on obstacles and decisions before they impact performance
🟡 Opening up opportunities to discuss feedback, celebrate recognition, and reinforce alignment
