Celebrate Greenwich residents’ love for their trees and hear the personal stories behind this year’s remarkable Treasured Trees.

As we celebrate America 250, we’ll also recognize some of Greenwich’s trees that have been standing for 250 years or more.

Enjoy the benefits of exercise while surrounded by beautiful trees, fresh air, and scenic river views. It’s a refreshing way to stay active, connect with nature, and explore one of Greenwich’s beautiful parks.

All ages are welcome! Bring your energy, wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. We'll meet at the Cognewaugh Road entrance of the park.

Join us for an autumn day in Central Park! 🍂

Explore the history and hidden beauty of northern Central Park, with a special focus on its remarkable urban forest and the diverse trees that thrive there. We’ll also visit the innovative Davis Center at Harlem Meer.

🍁 Tuesday, October 27
🚌 Bus departs Island Beach parking lot in Greenwich by 9 a.m. (please arrive around 8:30 a.m.) and returns around 3:45 p.m.

🌳 A tree for the next 250 years!

We joined the Sons of the American Revolution and the Town of Greenwich on Thursday to plant a special Liberty Tree in honor of America’s 250th anniversary and the Greenwich residents who fought for American independence.

The newly planted American elm was donated by GTC and could live for more than 250 years. As it grows, it will provide shade, cleaner air, wildlife habitat, and beauty. More importantly, it will serve as a living reminder of the people and ideals we are honoring.

American elms are also symbols of resilience. Despite being devastated by Dutch elm disease, some survived and endured. We hope this new elm will become a symbol of growth through adversity, community, and the promise of generations to come.🌳

🍂Fall is here and it’s a great time to plant a tree!🌳

Cooler temperatures and moderate weather make fall one of the best times to plant trees in Connecticut. Newly planted trees can focus on establishing their roots before the growing season begins again next spring.

Celebrate the first day of autumn by planting a tree that can be enjoyed for generations! 🌱

Executive Director Kate Dzikiewicz represented the Greenwich Tree Conservancy at International Coastal Cleanup Day at Greenwich Point on Saturday, September 19. 🌊🌳

Organized by Greenwich Green & Clean, the event brought volunteers together to collect non-biodegradable trash for submission to the Ocean Conservancy, which analyzes pollution in our waterways.

Thank you to for organizing this fun and meaningful event on a beautiful September day!
