💙💛 Today, our club had the privilege of welcoming Rotary District 7750
Governor for a conversation centered on an important question:

How do we create greater impact going forward?

Becoming a District Governor is one of Rotary’s significant leadership commitments. A DG serves and supports clubs throughout the district, helping strengthen membership, develop leaders, advance The Rotary Foundation, and ensure that the work happening within individual clubs contributes to Rotary’s larger mission.

For Eric, that leadership begins with one word: continuity.

He challenged us to think beyond the person currently holding a position. If we couldn’t fulfill our role tomorrow, who could step in with the least disruption? And more importantly, who are we developing today to lead one, two, or even five years from now?

That philosophy is especially important as Rotary looks toward its future. District 7750 netted 40 new members last year, and Eric has set a goal of adding 100 more—while emphasizing that sustainable growth isn't simply about recruiting new Rotarians. It’s about giving people a reason to stay, serve, lead and belong.

His message connected membership, public image and service in a powerful way:

Greater visibility → More engaged members → Greater impact.

And Eric knows a thing or two about lasting impact. He was involved in the beginnings of the Reedy River Duck Derby more than two decades ago, helping establish what has become a Greenville tradition. The event has grown into a major community fundraiser, with last year's event raising about $94,000, with 85% supporting local nonprofits in our backyard.

As Rotary founder Paul Harris reminded us, Rotary must continue to evolve. Our communities are changing, the ways people connect are changing, and Rotary must continue asking what service, fellowship, and leadership should look like five and ten years from now.

Thank you, District Governor Eric Krichbaum, for visiting Greenville City Center Rotary and challenging us to think not only about the impact we're making today—but the Rotary we're preparing for tomorrow.

❤️ Go Red for Women: Turning Survival into Strength

At this week’s Greenville City Center Rotary meeting, we had the privilege of hearing from Kristi Parker Byers, who courageously shared her personal journey as a heart disease survivor. Her story was a powerful reminder that awareness, early detection, and advocacy can truly save lives.

Heart disease remains the #1 cause of death for women, yet many women don’t recognize the warning signs or realize they are at risk. The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement exists to change that—through education, research, and empowering women to take charge of their heart health. Nearly 45% of women over age 20 are living with some form of cardiovascular disease, making conversations like these more important than ever.

We were also delighted to welcome Heather Frechette, owner of Smileys on the Roxx, who continues to champion the Go Red mission through local community events and advocacy. Thank you, Heather, for helping bring people together around such an important cause.

🏆🚗 A Beautiful Day for Cars, Camaraderie, and a Cause That Matters

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Greenville City Center Rotary CAR-T Show benefiting CART (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust).

Thanks to the generosity of our participants, Rotarians, and community supporters, we raised more than $400 for Alzheimer’s research while enjoying a day filled with beautiful vehicles, great conversations, and perfect Carolina weather.

A special thank you to the many Rotarians who return year after year to support this event. Your continued participation and commitment to Service Above Self are what make gatherings like this possible. We are also grateful to all of the car owners who proudly displayed their vehicles and helped make this year’s show a success.

Lately we’ve been loving Wine House for our Rotary Socials! Have y’all been? You gotta check it out. Wednesdays are free educational tastings too.

Either way, so grateful for the wonderful friendships we have established year after year.

Some members join for service projects, others join for fellowship, some for leadership development, others for initiatives and impact. Regardless the reason, we always welcome new opportunities because it sure is great to be part of a club that encompasses them all.
