Our therapists had the privilege of facilitating our bimonthly group with residents of the Transitional Living Program at Pendleton Place, focusing on an essential DBT distress tolerance skill: TIPP.

TIPP is a set of quick, body-based strategies designed to help individuals manage intense emotional distress in the moment. During the group, we explored how changing body temperature (such as using ice), engaging in brief intense exercise, paced breathing, and progressive muscle relaxation can help bring the nervous system back into a calmer, more regulated state.

For the youth we serve, these skills are more than techniques—they are tools for empowerment. Learning how to navigate overwhelming emotions safely can support greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in daily life.

We are grateful for our continued partnership with Pendleton Place and the opportunity to support young people as they build skills for healing, stability, and growth.

In the spring, Canterbury had the opportunity to offer a four-part grief support series at First Baptist Church Greenville. Canterbury has a variety of counselors who offer tailored community education sessions, groups, and other supportive opportunities in collaboration with our ministry partners. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with churches and ministries who share our vision to create a community where all can experience a life with healthy minds, bodies, and spirits.
