So… who exactly are Bigs & Littles?

A Big doesn’t have to be a CEO, a parent, an expert, or someone who has life completely figured out. Bigs are everyday people who make the choice to show up, listen, encourage, and be consistent.

And Littles? They’re young people from all different backgrounds with BIG personalities, BIG goals, and BIG dreams who can benefit from having another caring person in their corner.

Mentorship isn’t about “saving” someone. It’s about building a meaningful relationship and reminding a young person that someone believes in them.

💚 You don’t have to be extraordinary to make an extraordinary difference.

The College Advancement Program (CAP) helps college students persist, succeed, and confidently navigate their college journey with the support of a caring mentor.

From networking opportunities to résumé building and career preparation, CAP mentors help students develop the skills they’ll carry long after graduation.

💻 Meet virtually for 1 hour each week
🤝 Attend 2 in-person events each semester
📅 Commit to 2 academic years

Senior year at Vanderbilt means late nights, LSAT prep, law school applications, and continuing to chase the dream that’s been on my heart for years.

Summer training isn’t always glamorous—it’s early mornings, extra reps, conditioning, stretching, and showing up even when there’s no scoreboard. Every workout, every practice, every choice is an investment in the season ahead.

Preseason is almost here, and I’m excited to see all of this hard work come together. 💪✨

The Sports Buddies program with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee combines mentorship with movement, teamwork, and fun. Whether you’re cheering on a football game, lacing up your skates, heading to a soccer clinic, or trying a new recreational activity together, every outing is an opportunity to build confidence, create memories, and make a lasting impact.

✨ What to expect:
🏅 2–3 hours, twice a month
🤝 One-year commitment
🎟️ Attend at least one planned Sports Buddies event each month
⚽ Get first access to exclusive sporting events and experiences

Leadership is more than a title—it’s a commitment to learning, serving, and growing.

I had such a great time attending the Tennessee Leaders of Tomorrow Summer Luncheon alongside interns from agencies across the state. It was inspiring to connect with fellow interns, learn more about the incredible work happening throughout Tennessee state government, and hear from leaders who are dedicated to serving our communities.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Tennessee Leaders of Tomorrow Internship Program, an initiative that equips students with hands-on experience, leadership development, and a deeper understanding of public service. Throughout this program, interns gain valuable career skills while seeing firsthand the impact state government has on the lives of Tennesseans.

This summer has only strengthened my passion for public service, leadership, and pursuing a career where I can make a meaningful difference.

Thank you to everyone who makes this program possible and invests in the next generation of Tennessee leaders. I’m excited to continue learning and growing through this incredible experience!
