After more than 28 years of dedicated leadership, Community Foundation of Greenville President Bob Morris will retire effective December 31, 2027.

Since joining the Foundation in 1999, Bob has helped guide nearly three decades of growth and community impact.

The Board of Directors will begin a comprehensive search for the Foundation’s next President in January, with the goal of appointing a successor by June 30, 2027.

We are deeply grateful to Bob for his extraordinary service and look forward to celebrating his many contributions to our community while preparing for the Foundation’s next chapter!

We’re delighted to share our 2026 Report to the Community with you! This report celebrates the meaningful work of Community Foundation of Greenville and the impact made throughout our community in 2025.

Our theme, A Place to Belong, reflects the Foundation’s belief that a strong community is built not only on generosity, but on a shared sense of belonging. In 2025, that belief guided our work more intentionally than ever before.

Greenville Connects is working to make public transit a bigger part of our region’s future, from expanding access and improving service to exploring innovations that can help ease congestion and connect people to jobs, healthcare, and other opportunities.

In 2026, Community Foundation of Greenville administered 11 scholarship funds and is proud to have awarded these funds to 53 students in accordance with the donor’s wishes. We are excited to announce our 2026 scholarship recipients, whose awards total $311,850!

The diversity of opportunities provided through 11 active scholarship funds reflects the generosity and vision of our donors, whose investments help remove financial barriers and expand access to educational advancement.

The Salvation Army of Greenville County, SC has raised more than $15 million towards its Rebuilding Hope Restoring Lives shelter renovation project, and has a goal to raise the remaining $2 million by October 1st!

Community Foundation fundholders Dorothy and Steve Dowe have offered a $250,000 matching gift challenge to help reach the fundraising goal. Watch the video to learn more about why they are supporting this important project and how it will support Greenville families in need.

"We knew we were lucky, and we knew we needed to shorten the wait for this therapy. It is not a luxury." 💭

In South Carolina, long waiting lists and financial barriers often stand between families and critical mental healthcare. Launched in late 2025 by local practitioners and engaged residents, The Life Worth Living Project is working to make comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a proven treatment for self-harm and suicidal ideation, accessible across the Upstate.

Through patient subsidies, therapist training scholarships and community awareness, the initiative aims to eliminate barriers so everyone in our community can access care.
