In our latest Giving Matters article in the Greenville Journal, meet Tyler Shakespeare, a Clemson sophomore pursuing a degree in electrical engineering. Inspired by challenges he experienced growing up in Jamaica, Tyler hopes to use his education to help solve real-world problems and make a difference for others.

We are excited to share the work of Front Porch Housing in our recent Giving Matters article in the Greenville Journal.

Founded in 2022 through a partnership with Grace Church, Front Porch Housing has been an independent nonprofit for over four years providing affordable housing and wraparound services to over 400 community members. And now, with support of a $25,000 grant from the Margaret Linder Southern Endowment at Community Foundation of Greenville, more high-quality childcare will be made available.

Finding high-quality child care that is also convenient and affordable is a challenge for any parent. For families struggling to maintain stability due to insufficient income, substance use or other issues, it can seem impossible.

The only thing hotter than our community's commitment to supporting local nonprofits is the air temperature at CFG's office! While new HVAC is installed, our office will be closed and staff working remotely on Thursday, July 16 and Friday, July 17. We're a phone call away if you need us!

Help us celebrate Ryan Thackray’s one-year anniversary with Community Foundation of Greenville!

With more than 15 years of experience in philanthropy and development, including leadership roles with Presbyterian College, The Family Effect, The Meyer Center, Peace Center, and The Nature Conservancy, Ryan has made an incredible impact in his first year with us.

What Ryan enjoys most about his role is starting with a simple question: What do you want your philanthropy to accomplish? From there, he helps donors create meaningful, practical strategies to turn their goals into lasting impact.

One standout achievement this year was helping develop the guidelines and processes that launched the New Leaf Fund. Beyond his work at the Foundation, Ryan also served as Class Representative of Leadership Greenville 52 and joined the board of the South Carolina Children’s Theatre.

Congratulations, Ryan, and thank you for a fantastic first year!
