We are saddened by the loss of Nicole Lindahl. Through the Bicycling In Greensboro, Inc. (BIG) Changing Gears program, Nicole helped provide bicycles to guests of the IRC. She also helped many of our guests take meaningful steps towards self sufficiency by providing resume assistance and employment support.

We are grateful to Nicole for the many lives she touched and the lasting impact she made in our community.

The IRC welcomes the following new board members for the 2026-2027 term:

Deonna Kelli Sayed as IRC Board Chair (North Carolina for Community and Justice), Shawn Eisenbach (Downtown Greensboro Ambassadors), and Scott Neely (Westminster Presbyterian Church) as a member of the Community Outreach Committee (non-board role).

For the first time ever, the IRC Board is serving as chair for the IRC's annual fundraising event, Dignity on October 1st at The Pyrle. The board deeply believes in IRC’s mission and the difference it makes in our community every day. This year's Dignity theme, The Phoenix, reflects reinvention and renewal through challenge. In that spirit, the evening will include important updates about IRC’s evolving role around our shared commitment to those who need our services.
Individual tickets are $120, and sponsorship packets are available. Your ticket purchase or sponsorship directly supports IRC’s work, and this year we hope to raise $75,000 to sustain and strengthen that impact. Resilience High Point will be hosting a screening and discussion for a movie called ‘Breaking the Cycle’. It is part of the ‘Better Together’ film festival. The movie is about two people with different political ideologies who bike across America to secure more funding to address homelessness. The movie chronicles the people experiencing homeless and those working to address homelessness as they meet traveling across the country.

The movie is particularly relevant given the long-discussed day center in High Point, the conversations around the unhoused in Greensboro, the closure of shelters, and pending state legislation concerning the banning of homeless sleeping in public spaces.

The screening is on Thursday, July 30th, at 6:30pm at Centennial Station. Ticket link in comments.
