South China Morning Post won an bronze medal for “Washed ashore” in Story Page Design: Climate & Environment (Print)⁠

The judges described the piece as a beautiful, gorgeous way to convey that there are a lot of whales washing ashore. They praised its color, depth, emotion and the way the whale shapes and movements were handled. There was an exceptional level of attention to detail in making each icon or data point unique, and the visuals compelled the judges to continue reading.

NRC MEDIA won an silver medal for “Elections Dutch parliament” in News Product: Branding Identity for Series, Section, Vertical or Product (Multiplatform)

Students at CalPoly were deep into reporting on how feelings of isolation and discrimination among students of color at their school has remained unchanged over the last 30 years when they applied to join the SND Challenge.

Leila Touati, Archana Pisupati, Carly Heltzel, Grace Gillio and Anika Loganathan integrated ambitious data visualizations within their final 5,000-word story that published as a part of the 2026 Challenge.
