We are proud to see Bailey Road Park Tennis Court Complex, in Cornelius, NC, honored this week at the US Open as a 2026 USTA Outstanding Facility Award winner! 🏆

One of just 41 facilities nationwide to receive this year’s honor, Bailey Road Park was recognized for excellence in its design and site adaptation, aesthetics, maintenance, and, maybe most importantly, its commitment to growing grassroots tennis ❤️🎾

Congratulations to the Town of Cornelius, Town of Cornelius Parks & Recreation, Lake Norman Tennis Association, and everyone who has made an impact on this facility. We’re proud to have been part of the journey alongside USTA Southern and our local tennis community. From celebrating the opening of 12 new courts less than a year ago to seeing Bailey Road Park recognized on the national stage. This is what happens when we come together to advocate for and invest in tennis 👏👏👏

Celebrating a North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame Legacy

Earlier this week, the North Carolina Tennis Foundation inducted John Isner into the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame at the Winston-Salem Open.

While John was unable to join us in Pinehurst this past January for the induction ceremony alongside fellow Inductees, Allen Farfour and Brian Kalbas, we couldn’t let the occasion pass without expressing our deep gratitude and appreciation for John’s lasting contributions to NC Tennis upon a recent return to his home state.

Special thanks to Wendy's, our presenting sponsor, whose support made this event possible; to the 18 Hall of Fame members who welcomed John at the event; and to The Slaydon Family Bluegrass Band, representing the Greensboro Tennis Foundation NJTL Chapter, for entertaining guests and sharing their talent for music, love of tennis, and appreciation for the NC Tennis Foundation.

Congratulations, John Isner – and welcome to the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame!
