Code for Good West Michigan is a volunteer organization
dedicated to helping local nonprofits thrive through technology.

Local technology and design professionals will come together on the weekend of November 3 to serve the West Michigan nonprofit community. The effort, named Weekend for Good represents a collaboration between Grand Rapids-based nonprofits Code for Good: Grand Rapids GiveCamp and The American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA): West Michigan. GR Givecamp has had many years of prior events serving similar needs of organizations in West Michigan.

Introducing our new Nonprofit Project Coordinator: Heather Yarbrough!

Heather is an Account Director and Web Developer at LEAD Marketing Agency, where she helps organizations build better websites, solve digital challenges, and tackle the kinds of problems that make other people quietly close their laptops. Her career has taken her from Fortune 250 operations to owning a coffeehouse to agency life, giving her a knack for untangling messy challenges and finding practical solutions that actually stick.

After volunteering at Weekend for Good in 2025, Heather saw firsthand the impact technology can have on local nonprofits — and had so much fun she decided one weekend wasn’t enough. She joined the Code for Good West Michigan board because she believes technology can help good people do more good.

She’s happiest when her work helps make life a little better — for people, animals, or the planet. When she’s not working, you’ll usually find her reading, hiking, planning the next Airstream adventure with her husband, or heading home to a very opinionated dog and two equally opinionated cats.
